Although Spock had not expected a humanoid female such as the one on the screen to be responsible for his abduction, he responded as if her appearance was of no great surprise to him. After all, he had no choice but to obtain as much information as possible in order to form a more cohesive plan of action. He would not achieve anything with exclamations of surprise.
