1 [Holo-Location: Sanctuary]

All he did was blink, how could everything have changed so drastically? Daniel blinked again, hoping despite himself that he’d only imagined he’d seen a metal room with him standing on a platform. No luck. He glanced around, warily, before calling out.

“Thor?” Surely it had to have been the Asgard’s transporting beam, right? Except without the flash of white.

“Jack?” He tried again. Despite the fact Jack hadn’t been on the Prometheus with him, weird things tended to happen when Jack was involved, so it was generally a safe bet to assume he had something to do with this. Still nothing. He gave a sigh, reaching a hand up to ruffle his hair.

“This isn’t funny, guys.”

Only then did he look up and spy a rather odd and unusual device.

“..Okay, definitely not Asgard.”

Feeling a strange weight on his wrist, he sent an enquiring glance at it, only to do a double-take. What the heck was on his wrist? It didn’t hurt, despite the fact the metal seemed to be fused to his skin.

“Oh that can’t be good..”

He also noticed at that point the pedestal standing next to him. Was something wrong with his sight that he’d not noticed that? He stared at the tablet resting on top of the pedestal, the metal bracelet attached to him temporarily forgotten as he walked carefully around it before reaching out and picking the tablet up. Then he glanced around again.

“Jack?” Silence. “Isn’t someone going to say I shouldn’t have done that?”

This was getting tiresome, and he was starting to feel even more uneasy. He stared back down at the tablet, if only so he wouldn’t be looking around the large room anymore and see no one. Without really expecting anything to happen, he tried to open the tablet, finding it flipped open quite easily, as if it were a cell phone. He sighed again, glancing around once more despite himself.

“Jack, I know you have to be there. I get that you must be laughing your socks off, but this really isn’t funny.”

Well. That ruled out Jackson wandering off for a dig or rescue and coming back triumphant. Prometheus. He was from years before, and clearly seemed unfamiliar with the fact that he was no longer in Colorado.

If it was Prometheus and a Supergate, it had to have been almost four years before. Great.

Cam frowned. "Yeah...well...I'm pretty sure nothing went wrong with them. Not as they relate to you being here. That part's probably better explained by someone who's good at this kind of stuff, Jackson."

All of it was, in fact.

"Welcome to Taxon, Jackson. An inter...universal petting zoo."

"Probably...Sheppard?" It wasn't that Vala wouldn't be perfectly capable of telling him everything he needed to know. It was just that she'd very probably get sidetracked telling him it.

Cameron shrugged. "A petting zoo. Created and maintained by beings unknown."

"Yeah. Not sure where he spends most of his time in this place, but I've seen him around." He was pretty sure Sheppard was among those who'd been here the longest, among those of their own world.

"Not particularly, no."

He waved a hand. "Less than a month, more than a week."

He'd settled somewhere in between.

"I've been looking for anomalies in Cheyenne Mountain's structure." Yep. He'd just been running around the base and checking everything out, pretty much.

He really shouldn't. Where else would Cam play but the mountain if he was going to be stuck in a zoo?

"Well...the personnel aren't Stargate Command personnel and the Gate doesn't work."

He frowned slightly, and shrugged. Generally, he liked to investigate things himself as best as he possibly could before making...sweeping statements, but he really hadn't gotten an opportunity to explore much outside of the mountain, and he trusted Vala's scouting. Not to mention the other two Colonels who'd been here longer than him.

"So it seems. The ones without the nifty bracelet seem to be...different."

He waved a hand. "...Vacant. Like they're not all there. Like they've had their memories stolen, dropped in where they're needed, and had...basic commands worked in, instead.

"Sure. As long as you don't ask them about their past." He paused, and quirked a wry smile. "And as long as your name isn't Vala."
