He'd almost forgotten what day it was; somehow being here in Taxon had a way of making the dates on the calendar seem to matter less then they ever had before. it was only thanks to a note behind the counter at the Magic Box that he had thought to look for the date, and remembered. Today was the twenty-first of July. Today was Dawn's birthday.

It's morning now, and Giles is in the kitchen putting his rarely used cooking skills to work. With a knife in hand he cuts up strawberries and bananas. Already the the refrigerator is the fresh made orange juice and the crape batter; the latter still needs another 20 minutes to set before he's ready to start cooking.

Resting on the counter is a carefully selected collection of presents. None of them are wrapped; considering their history with birthdays it seems almost a jinx to bring out the bright colored paper and bows. Instead they rest in a neat pile; the talisman, pen and ink atop the red leather journal.  Laying alongside the rest is a shiny épée.

Anna sat on the swingset in the middle of a park, a heavy sigh causing her shoulders to rise and fall. She was an angel again and that was all well and good but she...sort of missed being human again. Sure, she was scared shitless for the first two, three hours, but it got better. Brigitta had been wonderful. All adorable and overprotective. Poor Dean had been worried but she gave him such crap.

Her hand lifted to the back of her head, to the place where she'd hit it on the ground. She felt no bumps, no bruises, but she faintly remembered the pain that had flashed through her skull. She dug the toes of her shoes into the ground at her feet, pushing herself back a little then bent her knees, causing her swing to rock back and forth slowly. Resting the side of her head against the left chain, another sigh parted her lips. "Crap," she sighed quietly. She was going stir-crazy and she believed part of it was an influx of tension that she hadn't gotten the chance to release.

Castiel had, unknowingly, cut off her 'supply' so to speak. With Dean having forgotten Sam and the rest of his family being in Taxon before, he'd forgotten the argument leading to sex in the Impala that they'd had. And since he was getting cozy with that Kaylee girl, she didn't want to even attempt to sleep with Dean. The pairing was cute and she didn't want to stop two people with a connection from having some form of physical comfort while they were away from home.

And that left Anna out in the cold. She spent her days at various locations, for long hours at a time, just sitting there, staring out into space. Like she was now. "Goddamnit," Anna sighed, the heavy thoughts weighing down her mind and her attitude.

So Dexter's been bored. Really bored. So bored that he's been thinking about the bucket test as seriously as he would any science experiment. He's even been practicing balancing a bucket on an ajar door -- what no one must ever know is that he drenched some perfectly good clothes in the process and just about drowned Roy, but that's irrelevant.

Well, he figures it won't be nearly as fun just by himself. He needs the other half of the team that spawned this idea to do this right.

"Heey, uh, Buffy? Are you up for some scientific fun with buckets?"
