faderbroderson: (vampire jesus)

The train was empty except for Godric and one other man. Godric had been following this man in silence for hours, watching him go about his day-to-day life with no indication that he could turn into a giant green creature with strength to match Godric's own and resilience that was unheard of. Perhaps it had all been part of the costume glitch that had manifested on Halloween, but Godric wanted to be sure. He'd waited until the crowds had thinned and the man had boarded the train, quietly walking on after him and sitting at the other end of the car.

Even clear on the other side of an empty train, it was impossible to ignore a vampire who was studying you intently.

A day in the life of Cassie Hack, college student )

When Cassie opened her eyes, she gasped. And then she gasped again. And promptly began coughing. She was no longer in the commons at UWEC. She was in the middle of a street, in a strange city she'd never seen before. "Oh, my god," Cassie whispered, reaching into her hoodie pocket for her cell phone, but finding that she wasn't wearing her hoodie. Or her jeans. Or anything she she'd put on that morning. She was wearing, as far as she could tell, a lot of black. Black boots. Black miniskirt, black wool duster. A stiff wind blew through the street and Cassie cursed the skirt and the lack of protection for her legs.

She shoved her hands into the pockets, one of them pressing against a flat rectangle. She circled her fingers around it, lifting it up and out. It looked like a mix between a cell phone and her iPod, if they were put on a hinge, sort of. Cassie fiddled with it, trying to figure out how it worked. She tried dialing the house phone, her mom's cell, and her dad's cell, and nothing worked. She tried 911. No dice. Cassie was completely unaware that she had turned on the holo function and was broadcasting to everyone who happened to have their tablet on at the time.

"I want my mom...." Cassie whispered, her chin trembling as tears welled up in her eyes.

((ooc: Well-Adjusted Cassie is a go!))
