The feed opens up with a close up of a very grim face belonging to a certain private eye vampire. Then he backs up to reveal...a shop full of stuff more closely associated with Taxon's own resident inventor-slash-scientist-slash-veteran. And said inventor scientist veteran Taxonian is right there, taking up half the frame. Mick'd appreciate no comments regarding possible blood relations.

"I'll make this brief," he tells the screen. "Glitch has told me things take a turn for the worse every now and then, David Lynch style, and it would seem we're in for another round. Scott Summers and Bagoas," he glances at Glitch for confirmation of the name, "have vanished from the city, despite both of them showing up on the map. If you can see this, Scott, Bagoas, please let us know you're okay.

"As for everyone else, if you see anything at all out of the ordinary,aAnything, please let us know." Turning to Glitch, gesturing at the screen. His turn to say his piece.

Jack had woken up in his bed groggy and sore. It took him a moment to remember he was in the room he had rented on Ryloth Prime and that he must have had more to drink the previous night than he thought. He sat up slowly and felt his hamstrings and other leg muscles protest, but ignored them and ran a hand over his face. The memory of how he ended up on the planet flooded back and he took a deep shuddering breath. He promised himself that next time he would attempt to secure passage on transports through more social means, instead of physical labor. He must have unloaded thousands of storage crates the previous day.

Now, muscles burning as he stood up, Jack stretched and groaned. He wished he had thought to do some stretching the night before and hobbled into the shower stall. Taking a nearly scalding hot shower, the immortal felt loads better as he stepped back out. He had just reached for the towel to dry himself off when he suddenly found himself in a metallic circular chamber.

Immediately he noticed two things. First, his vortex manipulator was suddenly fused to his wrist. He had a moment of deep pain, not from the manipulator itself, but from the memory of John Hart’s manipulator being fused to his wrist by his brother. Wincing more from the memory and less from any sort of pain, he also noticed he was still unclothed.

"What the..." Jack's voice sounded normal at least and he looked around, taking in the machinery. Then, he noticed the datapad. Stepping down from the platform, the Captain picked it up and turned it on. He noticed the door open as he picked it up, but spent a moment familiarizing himself with how to use the tablet as well as reading what it had to say before taking any interest in the door. Finding it could size down to be a part of his new implant, Jack installed it there and then went to inspect the door. The city beyond looked vast and vaguely familiar, but all built-up future cities tended to look alike after a while. Forcing himself to stay calm and be rational, Jack exitted the room and cautiously walked into the world, naked as the day he was born.
