Vala knows she has to say something regarding recent events, but apologies aren't quite sitting right with her. If she apologises for Qetesh's actions, then she's accepting the responsibility for them aswell, and as she's struggling with the guilt enough as it is. She stares at the closed tablet for a while, contemplating how or even what to say, if anything at all. When she switches the tablet to visual mode, she's clearly masking any emotion and delivering the abortion of an apology/explanation with as much detachment and denial as she can manage. It ends up coming across as cold and defensive.

"Just to make it quite clear, that delightfully pleasant evil bitch that many of you had the pleasure of a few days ago, wasn't me. So if you were thinking of attempting any kind of revenge for her actions, I'm not the woman you're looking for. Thank you...

Uh... over and out."

Inara, despite her best efforts, goes a bit blank as she attempts to take this in. Snake...gods. Right.

"So...is it something that's still inside of you?" She asks with a blink. She almost wants to ask where it is that the creature took up residence, but magic and gods and who even knows what perhaps it was more a spiritual possesion than anything...and if it wasn't she's not certain that she wants to know.

"No, it's gone. It's been checked." She sounds very firm about that, her words clipped and adamant.

This is a crime against nature. Jack will fix this. Fix it so hard. He gestures with his free hand to his own shoulder, he gives her a meaningful 'd'uh' look.

"Don't have a TV at the cabin... Bet those replicator thingies can make me one."

Charlotte chuckled. She and Vala were flip sides of the same type--lean women with sharp, handsome features. Add to that the obvious impression that while sometimes scattered, Vala was not a fool, Charlotte could well imagine people being made uncomfortable by the other woman. "That's why you should never stop yourself from actually smacking them with the idea, if need be."

"I have a tendency to just do it, and let the results prove my theory," Vala smirks, gesturing with a hand smugly.

"Although, there's certainly merit to your methods, should the need arise." She laughs, appreciating Charlotte's way of thinking, "I'll bear it in mind."

Just curious. [he might have his 30yr old brain, but chucking the idea of it re-occurring at a six year old, feels wrong]

So you're knowledgeable regarding these demons, then?

"It's a date then!" Vala grins, quite pleased with herself and looking forward to it, before adding, "well, a date as in a fixed arrangement with planned activities, as opposed to the romantic evening type date."

"Good!" Inara says emphatically. The thought that there might be parasitic or symbiotic space snake gods out there looking for human hosts is quite a bit more than she would be able to cope with right at this moment. And she's just a touch concerned that the woman she's talking to turned out to not be entirely insane after all, because while it's nice to know that there is a shortage of insane people in this place it still means that there are quite a few unanswered questions about the things she and that Daniel man had been saying regarding that Adria person.

Well. Simple mistaken identity. There's really not any point in dwelling on it, she resolves. "Will you need to be under medical supervision for long?"

"Yes, it is rather." Vala concedes with a fake smile, considering that Qetesh hadn't actually burrowed her way into her again. It's not the kind of experience you tend to forget, so quite how she had got inside her, is still a mystery.

The question however, raises issues that Vala would really rather not discuss. Informing the population of Taxon, that they have absolutely idea if this will happen again, isn't exactly high on her agenda. "Probably quite a while yes, until there are some answers, at least. Besides," she jests, looking down at her sling and immobile arm, "someone's going to have help me get dressed in the mornings."

She was really starting to like Vala. She was practical. Forthright. "Sounds like you have the right attitude about it all."

"Oh, I don't know about that... You did call me attractive," he's still preening over that. He does sort of mean it as a joke. But... y'know, his ego would like to think he has a chance with anyone.

"Did I?" Vala fakes innocence, or memory loss, or both. "Makes you wonder what drugs I was given," she laughs, offering Jack a very belated cheeky wink.

Yeah, I am. Grew up hunting and killing the bastards, so I've got a enough knowledge to make me dangerous. [Which sounds hilarious in his squeaky voice.]

"You did," said in a similar tone he often uses with Daniel. A good tone.

"Yes... drugs..." he waves his hand, "Mustva been good drugs."

"Well, you know if you concentrate you can make yourself shirts from those hatches that only have one sleeve, or that come off more easily. I make all my dresses with a little pocket for this thing," she says, jostling her tablet briefly. And then, belatedly, she realizes that it's probably actually the least of her concerns.

"But, at the very least it's over now and nobody was...well. If not seriously hurt, then...killed? Nobody was killed, were they?" She winces slightly.
