The Master's face goes blank. He stares at the Doctor, just as taken aback as the Doctor had been by his earlier admittance. Then, he shakes his head again and looks away. "You would never," he says with confidence. He doesn't think the Doctor could take victory in that way; it's too much like giving up, for him. Likely no backup plan, either.
