When Jenny had first arrived in Taxon, she'd been very pleased to see Martha Jones, both because she was a friend and because Jenny felt that Martha's presence somehow heralded the arrival of her father. When the Doctor had come, it had been a female Doctor who hadn't known her. She was from a time before Jenny's birth, and from another reality entirely. It was that, and not the issue of gender, that had upset Jenny, and it's because of that that Jenny is a bit subdued when she addresses the man she knows to be her father. His appearance is altered, but she has no way of knowing whether that means he's a future incarnation or a past one.
"There's plenty of getting lost around here, but not nearly enough running, if you ask me. Hullo, Dad." She hopes so much that he knows her.
