He narrowly avoided the first swipe from the Drudge, the wind of its passing ruffling his hair, but didn't imagine he'd have much luck with any further attempts. Not with the door handle still holding him at any rate. He also didn't think giving up would help much at all, so that left one other option.

The sonic came to bear on the door again, and the Doctor boosted the signal as much as he dared. If he could get it to let go for a second, there was the very, very slim chance he could dash past the Drudges towards the front door. Where hopefully he would at least have more time to try getting that open than he had now.
