It was having the desired effect, he could tell. As much as the Master was trying to keep his eyes focussed on the Doctor's face, his gaze kept dropping to the fingers tapping casually on the floor, the slightly-out beat that the Doctor was fairly certain was felt through the floorboards as much as it was heard.
