After February Jason needed several rounds of a good beer. Drinking on his own was fine, but not knowing where his own local bar was located, in his opinion, was just sad. It didn't take long for him to find what looked like a sports bar. Thankfully it looked much more like Merlotte's than Fangtasia.

When he sat down and ordered what was on draft the bartender slid across a full mug without asking for payment. Looking confused, Jason asked the extra how much his drink would cost him. After informing him that during the month of March, all alcohol was free in Taxon, the bartender left to bustle about his busy non-business.

Jason quickly pulled out his tablet, eager to be the bearer of good news. "Hey, I dunno who all is watchin' this but alcohol is free all month! I don't care what anyone else does, but I'm getting myself trashed right the fuck now. If you wanna make it a party and join in I am ok with that too."

Kaylee, unsurprisingly, was very pleased with this particular transmission. The lure of Free Booze was all it really would have taken to catch her attention, but the fact that there's a good looking guy announcing said free booze? Taxon did have its better days.

"If you turn around and say you're jokin'..."

Jason was more than happy to receive a reply. He wasn't quite certain if anyone would be paying attention, but it seemed like luck was on his side when an attractive young woman answered.

"Ma'am, there's no way I'd joke about free booze." It's as close to a solemn vow as Jason is bound to get. "Come see for yourself if you don't believe me."

Free booze? Loki can't even properly drink the stuff, but the very idea sounds awesome. Plus now that the zombies are gone, he's starting to realize how weird it feels to be so by himself here.

"Fuck yeah. Where are you and how do I get there?"

He seemed true enough to his word, and with Taxon giving freebies out in the past this didn't seem so far off. If it was true, Jayne would be more than easy to please for the month.

"Just might," Kaylee replied, checking to see exactly where the transmission was coming from. "Who should I be lookin' for when I get there?"

Well, this has perked Elisa up.

"There's free beer?"

Angel scowled, disgruntled, at the image of the unfamiliar man on the screen. It wasn't Jason's fault, it was the alien's, but that didn't mean Angel was less unimpressed than he was the moment he'd noticed the hatches were providing alcohol free of charge. There was no need to ask why, but he still didn't approve.

"The point, it's completely missed."

...context would have been nice there, Angel. Sorry Jason, this one's an Irish native and doesn't approve of the Westernization of a holiday he used to take very seriously, once upon a time. America, stop bastardizing culture.

Free is my favorite word.

[Angela, you damn alkie. Please sit down.]

"Why?" Brennan asks in confusion, a frown knitting her eyebrows together.

Why what, one may ask; why was Jason planning on getting trashed, why was the alcohol free, why for the party - who knows exactly, but the anthropologist is suspicious. Why isn't anybody else?

Oh, Jason.

[ GO GO SISTER JUDGING. MIGHTY MORPHING SISTER JUDGING. ]

"Um, I'm somewhere in Wilde. I don't exactly know the name of this place but if you look at the map I'm the dot that says Jason Stackhouse."

A bar is a bar. Not much investigation went on.

"Free beer, free everything that'll make you drunk. Think it's everywhere, not just the bars."

Jason was starting to think that he deserved a medal for spreading the best news ever.

The point must have been missed because Jason had no idea what Angel meant. His face reflected as much as he looked at his tablet with a confused expression.

"Uh, I think I got the point. Free means you don't pay."

Would you look at that? My favorite word is beer. Plus orange because it doesn't rhyme with anything.

[Well, since you asked so nicely, Angela now slides in right next Jason.]

So free orange beer must be your favorite sentence in the world.

[A nod to the bartender and a beer is set down in front of Angela who takes a big gulp of it. Free stuff tastes better than usual.]

There's a cold one waitin' here with whatever your name is on it.

"Free booze?" Paul asks, then laughs shortly.

"If this is their way of making it up to us...... what the fuck, I'll take it. Who are you, I don't think we've met yet?"

Oh, so that's the point of the map and the blinky lights. Loki hasn't been doing much more than chasing zombies since he arrived, so he's pretty behind on figuring out the more important aspects of life in Taxon now.

"This computer-phone thing is awesome."

Which is code for 'I'm on my way as soon as I find a place to get a shower'.

Jason is going to go with what to him seems like the most obvious why.

"Why's the booze free? Hell if I know, but the bartender's been keeping his word. Good enough for me."

And what do you do with an unlimited supply of free alcohol? That's where the trashed party comes in.

You're just jealous you didn't find this out first.

"Look for me," Jason replied, possibly a bit too enthusiastically. "Name's Jason. And don't let the picture fool ya, I'm a lot more handsome in person."

Computer-phone? Did the tablet go by that name too? Whatever, it was the same thing.

"Hell yeah it is. Wonder if it's got any games."

And now he's going to be distracted with finding this out for at least a good fifteen minutes.

"I don't think the aliens care about making up nothin'." He's never eloquent, but Jason usually has no trouble in getting his point across.

"Jason Stackhouse. Got here right before the zombies." Despite his recent change in occupation, Jason neglects to introduce himself as Officer more often than not.

Right up there with a three day weekend.

[never mind that "three day weekend" isn't actually a sentence]

To free shit. [he holds out his mug toward Angela]

[In some cases it is. But don't listen to Angela. She's an artist, not an English teacher.

Their glasses clink together and she takes another sip, this time smaller and more ladylike. Angela cocks her head as she looks at him.]

Who are you anyway?
