Spencer met Kate's eyes over the table. He had started to form an initial protest, that Alexis was old enough to be on her own, that in some cultures she'd be married with a baby by now, but the look on Kate's face made him pause. Clearly it was important to her that Alexis stay close to them. He decided to stay quiet.
