Now this was something to work with, something to analyze. Had he been capable of excitement, he certainly would have been feeling it right about now. With a new transmission in a more recognizable (though ancient) language, there was actually something to work with and there was a kind of almost-gladness that he had left the computer scanning for new occurrences. It was better than trying to track it down again, anyway, or tracing without any data. And the original was always better than a reconstruction.
Unfortunately (or not), as he set the tablet down, it started recording him at his station, back at work analyzing strange broadcasts in strange languages for whatever strange reasons. Tracing the source seemed somewhat more important to try now that there had been another rather major broadcast, even if he wasn’t expecting much in the way of results. He would work on translating it later. A linguist would have definitely been preferable, but seeing as they didn’t have one of those, he would have to work with the computer to do that later.
Until then, though, he would worry about one thing at a time, and that was trying to put a source to a signal seemingly from nowhere.
