Briar wonders if the figure ahead of him is heading toward the fire for the same reasons as he is. Their speeds approximately equal, Briar does not close much of the gap between them until Bagoas stops and lets himself fall. The mournful cry doesn't bode well, and Briar sprints the remaining distance. Can the man sense something that Briar can't?
