Insulting Sherlock is a gamble, to be sure, but more like playing the slots at a casino: sometimes you end up with more coins than you were planning on carrying, but it's also depressingly easy to keep putting coins in and wonder if the machine's even working. The machine appears to be off at the moment. While Selina talks his face clearly broadcasts his reactions: IE, thinking about something else, thinking about something else, yes yes, going back to thinking about something else--wait, what?

"Sorry, did you say 'to control people?'" he says, momentarily stymied by the concept of Poison Ivy.
