The time had come. Charlotte left John in charge of setting up the bar, giving him only the one request that he have a decent selection of beer, and did the work of dialing up the food. She knew she was going way over board. For all she knew no one might show up, even though she'd gotten a bit of a response to her invite. How could people resist, though. Food, drink, Dean's music, kittens? Okay, and an ex-vampire, but that wasn't his fault.

Pushing that thought away, she continued laying out the food and the carefully crafted warding spells that would protect it from the kittens. They had been given run of most of the patio, but not the yard, and not the food area. That meant they'd still be popping in and out of people's laps, but at least they wouldn't do it to plates.

When everything was ready, Charlotte ran up to change into skinny jeans, a crisp white button down and a ridiculously shiny pair of cowboy boots. Not unlike Dawn, not that she knew it, Charlotte was having too much fun with the fashion options the replicators afforded. Properly armored for the event, she headed back to the patio to wait for their first guests.





OOC: This is an open event, folks, anyone should feel free to tag in, even if they just discover the party. Start a new thread with a label if you want or just tag in on another thread. In due time, a slightly befuddled looking fellow with a tray of brownies arrives. When in doubt, bring dessert and smile, right?

Charlotte was disentangling a kitten from her hair when the man arrived with brownies. She held the squirming black furball out from her with a groan, then smiled at the man. "Hi. Welcome to the party." Al, the kitten, vanished out of Charlotte's hand, leaving her standing there like an idiot. "What've you got?"

"Hello, I don't think we've been properly introduced, I'm Jarvis and I've brought brownies. I hope that's all right? I made sure they're the sort without nuts, just to be on the safe side." The tone and cadence of his voice is lovely, but there's still something fundamentally 'off' about his body language.

"That's lovely." Charlotte waved him closer. "Brownies are always welcome at a party. I'm Charlotte."

The oddness of him didn't strike her as dangerous, so she only watched him rather than putting up any wards. "There's food, drink, and comfy places to sit. Everything a party could need." Including, possibly, the first non-human, but Charlotte just wasn't sure.

"It's been a while since I've had the chance to get out and mingle, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it." He's watched enough parties, and Tony Stark's parties at that, to know how to survive even a Worst Case Scenario.¹

She took the brownies from him and set them with the other sweets a she looked around for John. She pointed him out with a smile. "That's John. It's his house we are defiling this evening. And if you have complaints about the music, talk to Dean." She pointed him out as well. "Beyond that? Oh! Watch out for the kittens."

"Check, John and defilement, Dean and complaints, kittens and avoidance. I ought to be able to remember that." And beat Kasparov at chess without batting an e-eyelash.

He might have had the order right, but she had a feeling his comprehension was a little low. Particularly where the kittens were concerned. Oh, well, he'd learn the first time one popped up in his lap and asked for a treat. "In that case, I release you on the party. Have fun."

Charlotte chuckled. Got one signed up and she wasn't even trying. "Oh, rest assured, I'll let you know. I will be absolutely sure to let you know."

John walked over to where Charlie and JARVIS were, grinning. He came in just in time to hear the offer of helping clean up. "Of course we'd love the help."

He offered his hand to JARVIS. "Hello. I'm John, your other host for this little party."

"A pleasure to meet you, John. I'm Jarvis." There's a slight hesitation before he takes the hand and shakes, but once he's done that, there's a momentary flash of happiness. Look, he's done it right!

John grinned right back at him. "Pleasure to meet you too, Jarvis." Smiling at Charlie, he continued to the other man. "Thank you for coming. Charlie's gotten herself a great turn out."

She would hrm at him, but that's not really her style. Instead, she walks up and prods him gently in the arm.

Then she gives him an expectant look.

There are brownies so Brigitta shall be declaring her eternal love now and stealing your dessert product... Or something, actually she uses tact, instead of running over and rugby tackling him she'll just stroll over, and stare at the brownies, of course.

"Well, I could give them a try if you want?" Brigitta's hand is already reaching for the plate, her love of chocolate causes great impatience to occur whenever she happens to be in its presence.

So, yes, Brigitta shall be mid nom by the middle of that sentence, the girl moves fast when chocolate is involved... Though to her credit she does stop to gulp it down before smiling brightly at him "Pleased to meet you too, I'm Brigitta, you been here long?"

"Not too long. A couple weeks, but I haven't gone out much." Admittedly, he spent that time learning how to walk, talk, make facial expressions, and all sort of other odd biological functions.
