[location: John Everton's House] [OPEN TO ALL!] BLOCK PARTY!!!

The time had come. Charlotte left John in charge of setting up the bar, giving him only the one request that he have a decent selection of beer, and did the work of dialing up the food. She knew she was going way over board. For all she knew no one might show up, even though she'd gotten a bit of a response to her invite. How could people resist, though. Food, drink, Dean's music, kittens? Okay, and an ex-vampire, but that wasn't his fault.

Pushing that thought away, she continued laying out the food and the carefully crafted warding spells that would protect it from the kittens. They had been given run of most of the patio, but not the yard, and not the food area. That meant they'd still be popping in and out of people's laps, but at least they wouldn't do it to plates.

When everything was ready, Charlotte ran up to change into skinny jeans, a crisp white button down and a ridiculously shiny pair of cowboy boots. Not unlike Dawn, not that she knew it, Charlotte was having too much fun with the fashion options the replicators afforded. Properly armored for the event, she headed back to the patio to wait for their first guests.

OOC: This is an open event, folks, anyone should feel free to tag in, even if they just discover the party. Start a new thread with a label if you want or just tag in on another thread. Feel free to hop around, too. IT'S A PARTY, PEOPLE! Also, this will go on as long as people are interested, so backtag all ya like. We know people will be in and out all weekend. Have fun, drink all the booze.

He understood sheepish. He was not, really, the most social of people, which was why this was Charlie's show. "Well, we are all in this place together. Seems to make sense, getting everyone meeting and greeting."

He nodded his head toward the party. "Come on in. Have a drink. We'll be starting the food soon, provided that replicator gave me a grill that actually works."

One red brow shot up a little. "Replicator?"

Gwen had the basics of the hatches down but nothing to put the two together. "Not exactly to hungry, but thank you. Somethin' 'bout this place just don't settle to good on my stomach yet." Being torn away from her only home for the past five years as well as her 'family' there was enough to make her tummy roll about.

He pointed to the hatch against the side of the house as he lead her patch. "Replicator hatches. They'll give you just about anything you can think of, so long as it's not really alive. Sometimes the stuff doesn't work or taste right, though. It's a little tricky."

He lead her to the bar and handed her a cold beer. 'Well, we'll start with drinking this and maybe, once the food gets going something will strike your fancy."

Accepting the bottle the former Browncoat studied it carefully. The others had told her about people being here from Earth-that-was and other places, however, there was a slim chance it was something new in the Core worlds. A majority of the products coming out of the Core were created by Blue Sun and not seeing the label was slightly boggling.

"As long as it ain't protein bars then I don't think there will be an issue finding somethin'. Since my cook ran off t' get married, my crew and I have been lacking in the fixin's department."

"Protein bars? Absolutely not. Those things taste terrible. I can do much, much better, I hope." He gave her a hopeful grin.

He gestured to the gathered people. "You should mingle, drink you beer, talk. I think there are some folks here from your world."
