[location: John Everton's House] [OPEN TO ALL!] BLOCK PARTY!!!

The time had come. Charlotte left John in charge of setting up the bar, giving him only the one request that he have a decent selection of beer, and did the work of dialing up the food. She knew she was going way over board. For all she knew no one might show up, even though she'd gotten a bit of a response to her invite. How could people resist, though. Food, drink, Dean's music, kittens? Okay, and an ex-vampire, but that wasn't his fault.

Pushing that thought away, she continued laying out the food and the carefully crafted warding spells that would protect it from the kittens. They had been given run of most of the patio, but not the yard, and not the food area. That meant they'd still be popping in and out of people's laps, but at least they wouldn't do it to plates.

When everything was ready, Charlotte ran up to change into skinny jeans, a crisp white button down and a ridiculously shiny pair of cowboy boots. Not unlike Dawn, not that she knew it, Charlotte was having too much fun with the fashion options the replicators afforded. Properly armored for the event, she headed back to the patio to wait for their first guests.

OOC: This is an open event, folks, anyone should feel free to tag in, even if they just discover the party. Start a new thread with a label if you want or just tag in on another thread. Feel free to hop around, too. IT'S A PARTY, PEOPLE! Also, this will go on as long as people are interested, so backtag all ya like. We know people will be in and out all weekend. Have fun, drink all the booze.

Good, since that's the point of being here in the first place. Dean's been doing rounds, dragging people into dancing and talking and things, so he's pretty pleased with himself.

"... What, jeans and a shirt doesn't work? It's not like she's got to impress us. I've seen her in pajamas too many times for that." Dean rolls his eyes. Dean doesn't hang out with girls regularly, so he doesn't know the inner workings. Mostly he just knows how to get them in bed with him.

"I think a party situation is a little different to a 'chilling in the casa' situation-- the impressing isn't necessarily for us." There's a pause in which Xander laughs at the idea of Buffy trying to impress him. Because it is a laughable idea-- and besides, he's always impressed by her, even when she looks crappy. Which is rare, but then he's always been of the 'Buffy is a major hottie' school of thought, even though he's not in love with her anymore.

"So how long have you been here anyway? Or, in other words, how much do I have to drink to catch up?"

"True enough," Dean remarks. Xander will be joined in that school of thought, though Dean wouldn't ever, ever try to hit on her. One, he'd probably get slapped. And two, he doesn't have much interest in hitting on a chick he lives with. And Giles. Giles scares him.

"A while. And I'm on my fifth, sixth beer? So. You've got some catching up, dude."

All very valid reasons, yes. Except maybe the slapping, that's pretty unlikely.

"Extensive catching up, check." Xander nods, clearly with his priorities very much in place. "Anything exciting happened in my absence? Y'know, fights, improbable marching bands...?"

Eh, maybe a light shove, then.

"... Improbable marching bands." Dean repeats, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah, we had one of those come through like half an hour ago. Sorry you missed it."
