Dexter just doesn't pay attention sometimes. He's pretty darn observant when he does, but that's not always the case. That's how a falling picture frame sprained his shoulder last year, how everybody but him saw Kelly Preston's limo drive past the Commons last summer, and how he'd almost washed Roy with his laundry. More than twice.

So his tablet is on and recording and he hasn't noticed. Some kind of upbeat song is playing in the background, the words unintelligible from here, and Dexter is kind of grooving and mouthing along with them as he cleans Roy's tank. Nothing too theatrical. Next to the tank, Roy is hanging out on top of some palm leaves.

Squirt, squirt, squirt, wipe.

"Yeah! That's -" uh. "Actually why that's his name. The colours, I mean. 'Cause, y'know, rainbow... Roy G. Biv... uh, yeah."

Cue pause as Codex gets that together in her brain and has a lovely 'oh ... oh' moment. It's very awkward. Though that seems to be working with the theme here.

"Nice." See Codex try some people skills here. "So what's your name?" She can't exactly ask the gecko to tell her like how the guy told her the gecko's name.

He's in the middle of retrieving the squirt bottle when she asks.

"Dexter! It's Dexter. What's your name...? You're - new here, right?"

"Yea, really new. Still waiting to go home." She smiles awkwardly. "Uh ... my real home. Okay so this IS my real home here but there's no internet!. I'm Codex."

Er. Well as if there wasn't enough awkward. Good going Codex, using your gamer name.
