Being that Kirk saw firsthand what the Fangtasia battle had done to Buffy, the sight of her injuries didn't shock him. The tears, however, did. And for a long moment, he sat there at the desk in his ready room, staring dumbly at the tablet, debating on whether or not he should leave her be or ask what was wrong. Concern eventually won out in the end.

"Buffy, what's wrong?"
