[Location: The Nest] (Locked to Eric and Jessica, and Dawn later)
When Godric walked through the front door, he looked like hell. What was left of his costume was ripped and dirty, his ridiculous Peter Pan hat was gone (thankfully), and there was blood and debris littering his clothes. The expression on his face was thin-lipped and tight, and he closed the door behind him with a bit more force than was necessary.
[ooc: This is backdated to Halloween night, after Godric's fight with The Hulk. This thread will hopefully eventually transition into Dawn's "kidnapping". :3]

"Gaila and I were making our way back here when we ran into..." This sounded so absurd, "...a very large, green man. A monster. I don't know how else to describe him. I have no idea what he was."
no subject
Eric blinked several times, trying to process this. It was rare enough that either vampire saw something they couldn't easily identify, and rarer still something capable of harming them to this degree. He didn't waste time in disbelief over his maker's claim.
"And this 'monster' managed to do all this?" He paused, considering the gravity of something that powerful in Taxon. But "Though I assume you handled it. ...Right?"

Godric's frown deepened. He was seriously displeased. "No. It was in some kind of rage. The more I fought, the angrier it became. I was stronger and faster, but he was formidable, and it wasn't worth it. I retreated as soon as Gaila had gained enough distance I was sure she wouldn't be tracked."
Speaking of, he would need to contact Gaila and assure her he was alright. It was only a pity that Godric was no longer in any mood for play, and he doubted Gaila was either.
no subject
Eric was speechless at that. There were very few things that were a constant in the world, especially over the course of a thousand years. Godric being one of, if not the most powerful being in existence. The fact that something could stand against him, to the point of fighting him to a standstill, was staggering.

He pulled out his tablet and contacted Gaila. She was thankfully fine, though very worried, and Godric had to reassure her more than once that he was unharmed before he could disconnect. They had a raincheck for later. That done, Godric put the tablet away and resumed his conversation with Eric.
"It was like biting into a rock," he reflected. "If you encounter it, don't fight it alone. If we need to, we can take it down together." Probably. Godric sounded surer than he actually was, but they certainly had a better chance of it. Godric thought, if he had had no choice, he would have been able to defeat the creature, but he would have paid very dearly for it.

"Seeing you now, that much goes without saying." Any other time, that might have been snark and sarcasm, but now it's merely the facts. "Do you think it's a permanent fixture, or something merely brought in for the holiday?"
no subject
"I don't know. If it's permanent, I can only hope it's usually more reasonable." Unlikely. "With luck, it was a Halloween glitch."
no subject
"From what I'd seen so far, I thought these glitches were a bit more benign than that."
no subject
"Oh? What did you see?" He stepped under the spray and ran his hands through his short hair, little bits of glass tinkling to the shower floor.

"People seemed to be acting rather in character depending on their costumes," he chose his words carefully, before smirking quietly. "Sookie came dressed as a fairy." He took a moment to remember just how wonderfully she'd smelled. Perhaps he'd been acting like a cat next to a fantastically packaged bag of catnip, but he didn't really care. Definitely worth it.
The smirk turned rather nasty then. "The Slayer came dressed in a period piece. Eighteenth century, if I remember correctly."
no subject
"Are you saying she physically turned into a fairy?!" Part of him was sorry he'd missed it, part of him was wondering how Eric had resisted -- or if he had resisted at all. After long enough in the presence of that scent, even Godric would have been hard-pressed to keep from leaning in for a bite.
The bit about the Slayer was almost as enticing. A dark smile turned at the corners of his mouth as he finally moved again and reached for the shampoo. "A lady of fine breeding?" His voice lilted with cruel amusement.

Eric chuckled in reply. "The finest. And thus rather taken aback by the general variety at the party. Luckily she was in the company of a gentlemanly escort so as to lessen the scandal."
no subject
"Am I to take it that gentlemanly escort was you?" A wide grin broke out across his face as he rinsed the shampoo from his hair and added conditioner.
no subject
"I couldn't in good conscience leave her with such uncouth company." Eric's tone aimed for chivalrous, but fell just a bit short. Oh, well. The general area of smug bastardy will have to do.
no subject
There were times when Eric's smug bastardy was nothing short of a pure delight to Godric. Especially when it was tinged with such delicious irony. This was one of those times. He laughed, some of the good cheer he'd found at the party bleeding back into the present. It eased some of the tension, some of the fury and frustration that still simmered beneath the surface of his skin.
no subject
"And yourself? From what I saw, you seemed to be having a good time at the party."
no subject
"I enjoyed the dancing." That should come as no shock; Godric had always enjoyed dancing with pretty women. In old society functions, they always used to think he was some sweet young thing, a younger brother or a son to someone else at the party, and they had tended to be freer with him and more flirtatious than they were with the 'older' men. As he recalled, Eric had always gotten something of a kick out of it, even as he'd charmed his own way through the crowd.
"The little telepath took my suggestion and dressed as a ballerina. It suited her." The conditioner rinsed from his hair, he soaped up quickly. The water was now running clear where before it had been pink with his blood.
no subject
"No doubt there was a long line of partners." Godric had always been popular enough at this sort of things, so it wasn't any surprise. He kept his tone innocent enough though his expression didn't quite match. "I know Cassie was asking after you."
Eric chuckled at the mention of River. "Told her it was rather appropriate. Though she didn't seem too pleased to see me."
no subject
"Long enough," he replied coyly. "I danced with Cassie." And she had been a decent dancer, despite her insistence she was not. If Godric read anything into Eric's tone, he didn't let on.
"You do seem to have a knack for getting under the skin of telepaths, don't you?" He sounded simultaneously amused and playfully chiding. Both Sookie and River seemed to have the same general attitude when it came to Eric, and of course it was because Eric baited them, in one way or another.
He rinsed off and stepped out of the shower, feeling immensely better as he reached for a towel.
no subject
"Eric? Godric?" She called out their names, skipping down the stairs. "That was amazing. The whole night was amazing. Do you know there are parties like that people go to all the time? Alright, maybe not here, but there are." She kept talking as she wandered through the rooms looking for them. "I want to have a party. Just for me. I've never had a party for me. With costumes, and a band and-"
She just kept going.

He sighed at the sound of Jessica's entrance. "In here," he called out impatiently. If he hadn't, she probably would have gone through the whole house chattering away the entire time. Might as well deal with it now.
no subject
He felt the weight of things settle uncomfortably on his shoulders as he rifled through his drawers for a change of clothes.

"Good to know you enjoyed yourself," he replied dryly, even though it's obvious he couldn't have cared less. It took all the control he had not to facepalm at her question.
...Seriously. Why did he bring her here.
no subject
"Yes, Jessica, they're real." He pulled out a pair of baggy pants and a plain blue sweater. Pam would have had a fit.
