[audio/location: Sanctuary for all infirmary] Waking up is hard to do

It was the annoying sound of medical equipment that started to seep louder in to Gwen's ears as the seconds passed. You know the sound. The beeps of screens watching heart rates, maybe the sounds of the IV kicking on again as medication was sent out along the line, or the sounds of the oxygen tank working in the background. Sounds that were commonly associated with being in a stuffy building and being woken every few minutes by staff. Except.. the red head couldn't remember being woken once. Well she honestly couldn't remember anything over however long she had been asleep. That in its self felt like ages.

With a groan the woman raised her lifted her left hand to rub at tired eyes. Everything felt stiff and sore- she could have sworn that either she had drunk to much or else she had been in one heck of a barfight. "Mmm... Jay? Drew? Where th' gorram is everyone?" she managed to choke out before swallowing hard. "We meet th' contact?" She'll get to the whole realizing where she is in a minute or two.

Although Wash hadn't spoken to Gwen for some time, he recognised the voice on his tablet and looked up from Serenity's engine. Since Kaylee's disappearance, it had fallen on him to take care of the ship. Although he was nowhere near as talented as she was, he knew his way around an engine.

In fact, he knew a lot more than a lot of people ever expected. He couldn't certainly tell, even from an audio only feed, that Gwen wasn't in a particularly good state.

"Gwen?" he said, putting down a screwdriver to reach for the device, "What happened?"

Although a lot of things could go wrong in the Black, and he could have named a few of them, he was less sure about the things that could cause serious injuries in Taxon.

He doesn't need to pardon the look. At the moment, he was more interested in working out what - or, for that matter, who - had put it there.

With a lot of effort, he managed to resist the temptation to ask if she was all right. The answer was fairly obvious.

"We're still in Taxon," he said, before adding: "I'm not sure where in Taxon you are, though." Apart from an infirmary, which was a bit too general to be of any use. It looked more like a hospital than the infirmaries he'd seen on board ships.

"I'm not sure I'm familiar with the word gorram." Sheppard replied in his usual snarky tone.

Even though he hardly knew the woman named Magnus, he asked if they could move Gwen MacKenzie there if things got tough. They did for a bit, and she agreed. Of course she came in and checked every now and again, but generally left the two of them alone. Sheppard was just waiting for that pointy-eared doctor to show up again.

"Well, technically speaking, you dropped on the pavement. From a few stories up." Sheppard shrugged lightly. "Vulcan doctor took care of you and we moved you into the infirmary of a place called the Sanctuary For All. Been here for a few days."
