"Hello Taxon." A thing shaped like a man (a heavily-scarred man) is sitting at a cafe in Central, and he greets you all with a whisery hiss. The Sanctuary where everyone arrives is visible over his shoulder.

"The man in the moon, here. The Brucolac, for those who do not yet know me. I've been watching over you all, and have noticed a lot of scurrying about. This has lead me to wonder, to concern myself with you and your well-being. How are you? Are you lost? Adrift? Dissatisfied? Content? Successful? How goes the vampire situation?"

And yes, he delivers that last with a smile, just a small one, and a flicker of his forked tongue.

"Hello, shy fellow, hello. I don't think I know your voice." The Brucolac fiddles with something on his tablet, then returns his hand to his glass.

"Perhaps I am a bleeding heart who truly wishes to help. Perhaps I am a vicious creature looking for easy targets. Perhaps I'm just bored."

This city doesn't need any more bleeding hearts than it already has; however, we could get along positively swimmingly if you're truly a vicious creature; and, there are better ways to satisfy one's boredom.

[he pauses briefly]

Ohh... but to each his own, I suppose.

There is a possibility that the man is merely insane. Or that Watson himself is insane, and this entire situation is borne from the dark, previously buried recesses of his mind. Nevertheless, the man he hears on this device has said quite a few very interesting things, and the doctor can't quite ignore them.

"Are you in some way responsible for what's going on here?" he asks, even though he's distantly aware that a few people had mentioned the supposed aliens had not come into such direct contact with the captives. Even if this man isn't, Watson doesn't quite care for the knowing attitude settling upon the man on the screen.



And then, belatedly, "Vampires?"

"No, not I. I came into this world just like everyone else: press-ganged and snarling." He's smiling now, though. He likes Watson's hat. It's a very dependable sort of hat.

"You must be a fresh one. Have you found a suitable place to stay? It is quite a shock to be here, away from all that is safe and familiar."

As safe as 221B Baker Street can be, that is. “Er, yes, I just arrived yesterday,” Watson replies slowly, the events replaying in his mind as strangely as they did as they unfolded. “I was told it was allowed to stay within this building for as long as was necessary.”

He then looks past the tablet, presumably at the room surrounding him. “To be honest, I haven’t gotten a good look at the city just yet, let secure proper living arrangements.”

In a city he didn’t belong to, no less.

Glitch frowned at his tablet. "I I've been dong all right, mostly. My party went well." He grinned, then winced when it aggravates the notable bruise on the left side of his face.

"The vampire situation, is that the one with...what's his name? Because I like the vampires I know." One of them was responsible for his more-or-less tamed locks. Congrats, Brucolac, you still have Taxon's scariest hair.

"It did indeed. You are gracious, and it is good to hear graciousness is rewarded. You seem more colorful than a man basking in good works should be, though." He taps his own face, and then points at Glitch's bruise.

"As for the reported rogue, I do not know him. I have not met him. The whole thing is a fucking mystery, and a frustrating one, wouldn't you say?" His hair is secretly running this town, you know it!

Praise! Delicious praise, and Glitch just about glows with it. "Thank you, really. And, ah-" He touched his face gingerly. "Scientific injury, nothing sinister about it."

He wouldn't say that if he knew it had come about due to Object-induced bad karma, but as he is thus far ignorant on the matter then

"..it sorta is, isn't it?" he replied. "I mean, I believe Buffy since she's a good friend of mine but I still don't understand what's happened to make this one guy so...so dangerous."

Whomever's using this tablet is unseen; the screen is pointed at a wall. Specifically, a wall with a window, though only a corner of the windowsill and a sliver of glass can be seen. The sound of someone moving boxes can be heard somewhere off screen, and the disembodied voice that contributes to the broadcast is male.

"Vampire situation? You mean the murderous D&D player running around?"

"I haven't seen him," Judith admits, and she is not pleased by that; of course, her honesty is significant for other reasons, the main one being that whatever twitching, primal part of her mind that looks for an authority figure is not entirely unhappy with the Brucolac serving some part of that function.
