x13 [accidental visual] darling I want to destroy you

((Expect either or both Time Lords to answer replies. lol.

Warning: Swordfighting, lots of stabbing, and blood in the Doctor-Master thread.))

When the visual switches on the only thing it momentarily shows is the wall that the tablet slammed into, and then as it slowly drags away the shaky view reveals two Time Lords, bloodied, bruised, and breathing heavily. There's a vicious look in the Master's eyes, the visual brushing across the side of his face and catching a small spatter of red before dropping back down.

The tablet sits fittingly minimized in the Master's bracelet, but it displays the scene: the Master and the Doctor, fencing foils brandished, and a quiet Taxon street around them (certainly if they had at one time had company, their fight has long since chased it away). Their is nothing innocent about this fight anymore. They are both out to win, and they'll both fight dirty to get it.

"Really, Doctor," the Master drawls, "you can do better than that." Because mocking an angry Time Lord is always a brilliant idea.

If any brave soul were to comment on what in Taxon's name they thought they were doing... well. It may at least distract them from losing all their blood on the streets.

A couple of years ago Rose wouldn't have been comfortable taking charge either but since her foray into the parallel world where she was the only person with a key to the TARDIS--the only person who cared and realized the TARDIS was a living thing--she's become accustomed to it. Bossing around all kinds of military personal prepared her for taking charge in panic moments.

Moments just like this.

"Not far but you look wiped from the spell," Rose is assuming, "And last time I had Mickey to help me carry him. I don't want to drop him. We're going to need help."

Her fingers ghost over the various cuts, scrapes and bruises on the Doctor's face as she talks.

Tara nods, thinking a moment. Buffy was strong, but small; frankly, she was less worried about the Doctor's weight than his size. Most of her other friends were humans of average builds, and few of them had much call to like the Doctor.

Sam. Big, strong, and would probably help if he could.

She grabbed her tablet and opened a private channel. "Sam... are you there?"

Sam is in the kitchen eating and reading a book about the history of magic when he gets the call from Tara. He answers the call without looking at the tablet.

"Yeah. I'm here. What's up?"

"Sam. If you can - I mean, we're just... I've got an injured friend and he's kind of tall. I don't think we can move him alone." She exhales, realizing she's not making any sense, and backs up. "Rose Tyler and I are with him now, and we'd like to get him off the street. Her house isn't far. I know it's a big favor, but..."

It takes him a minute to catch up to what she's asking but once he does he starts putting things away and getting up from the table.

"No. It's okay. I don't mind."

He fiddles with the tablet a bit, losing the visual in interest of finding Tara on the map before switching back. "Okay, I see where you are and I'll be there in a few minutes. Does he need someone to look at his injuries or have you got that?"

He's already moving out of the Castle toward Tara's location.

Of course he's not aware that it's The Doctor he's moving. The guy who made the bombs that injured him. Not that it would really make a difference. Sam has screwed up and hurt people often enough in his job that he understands that happens, despite the very best of intentions.

"He'll probably need someone to look at him eventually if you know anyone, but we've stopped the bleeding for now. Thank you, Sam. Really." She feels a little bad asking, but her gratitude is sincere.

Tara turns back to Rose. "My friend Sam is coming. I think we can probably manage, the three of us."

"I know a little but I'm far from a doctor," Sam says. "No problem. See you there." And he clicks off his tablet and starts a jog toward Tara's location.

Rose smiles at Tara bit tearfully and nods. "Thanks." She turns her attention to the Doctor. She knows he's unconscious but she also knows he heard her one time when he seemed to be unconscious.

"Hear that Doctor? Somebody's on their way. We'll get you in bed and I'll make tea." She laughs but it's not a real laugh. Her next words are directed half to the Doctor and half to Tara. "Sound like my Mum now. Tea fixing everything."

"Tea is good," Tara offers, with a little smile. "Tea always helps." As long as the Doctor was lying still, maintaining the spell wasn't that bad; it took a low level of Tara's energy, but not too much. It was going to become more challenging when they were on the move. So she falls quiet, conserving her energy as best she can.

There's a reason normal witches and wizards didn't do a lot of complex healing magic. The cost was always high.

To say Morgana is seething by the time she finds the spot where the duel ended, would be a dangerous understatement.

She's uncertain how long it has been since the Doctor locked her in, but every second she was trapped increased her anger tenfold. If the Doctor had still been standing upon her arrival, he would not have been seconds later.

It takes her a few moments to assess the scene. The Doctor has attracted a crowd, as she cannot see him from her vantage point. As no one is running frantically, in fact, everything looks rather calm, Morgana assumes whatever injuries were incurred are easily treatable and thus, does not approach.

Hearing soft voices, she's even more annoyed at how everyone crowds around him, treating him as something to be cared for, respected.

When she realizes who all is present, for a moment, Morgana has to repress a desire to step out and warn Tara about how dangerous the Doctor can be, but now is not the time.

Off to the side is a discarded rapier. All her training is offended by such a disregard of one's equipment.

Ducking back behind the building, Morgana plans on waiting until everyone is gone, before moving again, in a desire to remain unnoticed. In fact, in the future, if anyone asked if she were present for the duel, she would lie.

Sam shows up a few moments later. He jogged there because injured friend of Tara's means that there's some need to hurry. He slows down when he sees it's the guy who blew up the city. He looks puzzled to Tara then to the guy in the suit and the blonde worrying over him.

He introduces himself. "Hey, I'm Sam." He would joke that he'd be the beast of burden today but the blonde doesn't look much like she's in the mood for joking so he turns his attention to Tara.

"Your work?" He points to the shimmer of magic he can see working as a bandage on the Doctor's stomach. "How far are we moving him?"

At first Rose doesn't notice the tall man approach them because she's taking note of Morgana. The look on her face is curiosity. She's not certain what Morgana is doing there. Of course she's not helping and that's odd. Rose thought she liked the Doctor a bit more than that. Of course that begs the question why Morgana is sticking around and if it weren't for the fact that the Doctor is seriously wounded, Rose would go find out. As it is, she's not moving from the Doctor's side.

"Rose Tyler," she says to Sam distractedly. "Not far. Just up the street and over a couple of blocks."

Tara nods, to Sam. She hopes that it's clear that she'll talk to Sam about it later, if he wants, but for now they need to get him moved. "Rose knows where we're going. I'm not going to be much more help in moving him if I'm going to keep the spell up on the go - can you two manage?"

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

He doesn't mind not knowing. Especially right now in the thick of things. It would be nice to know though.

"Yeah, we can handle him just fine. Do what you need to do."

He looks to Rose, moving to the Doctor's head.

"I'll get him under the arms and handle most of his weight. You just get his feet."

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

[identity profile] iam-thebadwolf.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Alright. Be careful with him," Rose cautions protectively. She moves to his feet, lifting them when Sam picks up the Doctor underneath his arms.

"I'll walk backwards," she tells Sam. She wants him to be able to see where he's going so he doesn't trip over anything.

Tara gets to her feet, slowly but steadily. She's not going to say much until they get him there; the bulk of the spell's heavy lifting is done, it's true, but maintaining it while they move will take focus.

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

[identity profile] eaturbreakfast.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
The Doctor isn't heavy but Sam is trying to be careful. He doesn't like moving someone unconscious and injured. Besides the blonde is giving him the evil eye every time they navigate over a bump or a crack. He looks over to Tara, a little concerned about her. She looks tired. He doesn't say anything to her though. He doesn't understand magic but it's obvious she's concentrating and he doesn't want to blow that.

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

[identity profile] iam-thebadwolf.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Rose is practically holding her breath while they carry the Doctor and yes she is giving Sam the evil eye. She's worried. Beyond reason and it's easier to deal with worry when she can glare at someone.

"The house right up there."

Of course it looks like almost every other house on the street so she ought to clarify. "It's the one with the settee sitting on the sidewalk."

Tara goes ahead enough to open the door. "Is there some room close to the door where we can lay him?" Because this needs to be done sooner than later, for the Doctor's sake and hers..

"We...haven't gotten around to--upstairs. Door on the right. It's a bedroom," Rose answers. "Sorry," she says to Sam and to Tara. It's obvious this is straining Tara at least. "I'll go first."

She's rather trip over the stairs and drop his feet than have Sam trip and drop his head.

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

[identity profile] eaturbreakfast.livejournal.com 2010-05-04 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Sam nods and glances to Tara. He's worried about the witch and intends to hover a bit to make sure she's alright.

"Let's just-Hold on."

He can make this faster. He shifts the Doctor's weight a little balancing him against his chest then motioning Rose to move the Doctor's feet so he put one arm underneath his knees. He tries to bend the Doctor in the middle as little as possible. The trip up the stairs is a bit faster hopefully lessening the strain on both Tara and the Doctor.

Tara follows, saying to Rose, "If you've got any first aid stuff, or if you can hatch it, he probably needs proper bandages too."

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

"I started hatching them when the Master and the Doctor started fighting," Rose says as she opens the door for Sam, rushes in and pulls the blankets down on the bed. The room is a bit cluttered, clothes thrown about and the like. Rose isn't the neatest person ever. "Just put him there. Careful."

Re: [location: Some Bloodied Street]

Sam very carefully lays the Doctor in the bed then steps back, hands going into his pockets. "Are you okay?" he asks Tara quietly. He rakes a hand through his hair.

"Uhm...I can look at his wounds but I'm not a doctor. I've just seen battle wounds. He's going to need someone with training to look at those."

Tara nods, though it's not clear in response to which comment. "You should go ahead and bandage him up while the spell's still holding. Apparently he has some better healing than human, but I think we should still find a doctor to look at him."
