The first thing the camera catches is the sound of a muffled chainsaw. This goes on for a few seconds before there's sounds of some shuffling and shifting which jars the camera again. Oh yes that would be Sam squished into a chair sitting up asleep with his head back and some god awful snores coming from him.

Snores so loud he wakes himself up with a start. This jars the camera some more and Tara can be seen sound asleep on the bed. At least for the moment.

"Shit," he mutters and scrubs his hands over his face then leans up to check on Tara before sitting back in the chair. This is when he notices the camera is on.

"Uhm...sorry. I-Tara is fine for anyone that was wondering. Ethan, I meant to call you and tell you but..." He makes a gestures like...yeah I fell asleep.

He'd carried her home after the Doctor's injury and she'd been so exhausted from the spell she hadn't woken up. Worried, he'd just sat in her room to mother hen her.

What happened?

She's okay, DG. She extended herself a little bit on a spell I think but she's just tired.

Let me guess ... she was trying to help someone?

Yeah. She was. The Doctor was hurt.

Did someone he blew up get hold of him?

I don't know for sure if this guy was part of that or not. It was a sword fight with someone he knew apparently.

He's a popular guy. [So dry, DG. She doesn't like the Doctor and she'll like him even less if he gets Tara into trouble.]

You'll let me know if there's anything I can do, right?

Of course. Right now I'm just going to let her sleep and see if that helps.

Try having a cup of tea ready for her when she wakes up. That's what Popsicle used to do for me.

I'm fine. I'm just waiting to see what the hamsters do next.

Some time after the initial transmission, Tara stirs, waking up a little. "Where - oh." She smiles a little. "Hi, Sam. How'd we get back home?"

"You fell asleep at Rose's house. I carried you back here," Sam answers. He moves to the edge of the chair. "How are you feeling?"

"You didn't have to carry me all that way - thank you." She sits up a little. "Tired. I'm okay, I just... the spell took a lot out of me." And yes, she'd probably even admit if pressed that she might have held the spell longer than she really needed to.

"It was fine. You aren't heavy," Sam tells her with an overly worried smile. "Can I get you anything? Do you want something to eat or drink?"

"No - I'll probably just sleep more, in a little while. Thank you, though. Really. And for helping."

"Okay and no problem. I don't mind so you can call anytime," Sam answers her. "I knew you were looking pretty exhausted when I left to get Bones. It's a magic thing? It always takes a lot out of Ruby too."

Tara nods. "It's a magic thing. Healing magic, especially... it takes a lot of energy. I probably stretched myself a little far."

"That makes sense because you're not pulling off of anyone else's power. You're just using what's inside of you," Sam nods. It gets him wondering if Ruby still pulls off someone's power or if she's down to using what she's got inside of her. "You should be more careful." He doesn't hold what the Doctor did against him. He can't when he weighs it against the things he's done but he does know that Tara shouldn't risk herself for someone like the Doctor. Or someone like him for that matter.

"I'm okay, really. I don't do anything that big very often." The only other time recently had been to save her own life, and she thinks both times have qualified as emergencies. "If I can do something without magic, I try to, but I didn't have the skill or materials to stop the bleeding."

"Bobby says that magic always has a price so that's--I'm glad you don't use it often." He pauses because he's not sure if he's mentioned Bobby. "He's sort of like Obi Wan. He knows a lot about everything supernatural and he's done some magic."

She nods. "Any magic teacher who's legitimate will tell you that. Magic should never be used to just avoid doing things the hard way, or because it amuses you." She's gotten a little softer - the topic is still kind of sobering for her, because of Willow.

Tara's softer tone doesn't go unnoticed by Sam. He furrows his brow, stands up and...

Yes he starts to sing. There should be apologies to both Tara and Elvis Presley not to mention anyone who happens to overhear him.

Now he looks acutely embarrassed. He's blushing even. Sam's well aware of his musical talents.

She reaches out to touch his arm, reassuringly, if he's close enough. "It's okay. Thank you." She opens her mouth again, but then a set of lyrics comes out in her sweet mezzo soprano.

I always get those two confused
But anyway -

I turned around
And suddenly

She laughs, self-depricating, and says, "...right. So."

Sam chuckles. At least Taxon is equal opportunity. "Alright then. Just remember that because--"

And it's back to the singing

She smiles. "We had this happen at home, you know. That time, it was a demon. But... ♪I got by with a little help from my friends.♪" She stops. "Well, that wasn't totally... anyway. Thank you, Sam."

Sam just grins at her. "You're welcome. And you ought to try singing sometime when you aren't being forced. You're good at it."

Now it's her turn to blush a little. "Oh, I c-couldn't. Not in front of people."

"You just did. Well at least in front of me," Sam tells her.

"Only because I couldn't help it. Last time, I did a whole song and dance in a public park."

This makes Sam face palm. "We're going to end up dancing too?"

"I can't promise. I don't know if it's the demon this time or not."

"I wouldn't mind you dancing but no one wants to see me dance. I'm only coordinated when I'm hunting."

"I'm sure I saw worse. The whole town was effected."

"That had to be a nightmare," Sam says. "I mean...unless everyone was also afflicted with a lot of talent."

"No, not quite. I mean... it wasn't exactly the first thing on your mind, at the time - whether people were good or not - but even so."

"It's a little...disconcerting thought. Like being a in a broadway play. Do you ever watch musicals and go why are they singing? It just doesn't make sense."

"Willow - um - a friend of mine. She thought, before we know it was a demon, that we were trapped inside some physic kid's Broadway dream."

She said Willow's name to someone not from Sunnydale. It's a miracle.

"I can see how she would think that. I wonder if our Hamsters like Broadway?"

Sam would be proud of her if he knew.

"I wouldn't be surprised, especially if this is a glitch."
