After his conversation with Jim, Spock was quick to make the necessary arrangements to begin collecting data in the city for analysis. Originally his objective was to seek out the Extras and take preliminary scans before a complete medical study could be conducted, but establishing a survey of the city seemed a better course of action prior to beginning the experiment. Surely his crewmates had a thorough understanding of the city and its establishments, but Spock had spent little time outside of Castle Summer and the Enterprise since his arrival when there was no need for it.
It wasn’t long before he passed it; a dwelling that stuck out on the particular block he happened by. This one, however, was not like the other buildings that surrounded it. Not that the entirety of the city didn’t fall into a level of illogical anachronistic mixing of architecture, but Spock avoided jumping to irrational conclusions by just assuming it was the stylistic choice of whatever being happened to control this place.
Improbable, but not entirely impossible.
The building reminds him of Shi’Kahr, a city on Vulcan where he spent most of his life, and he approached it without second thought once the connection was made. Peculiarity aside, the press of his hand against the panel made the door slide open and eliminated his uncertainty in taking this as his home here in Taxon. It was well furnished and decorated, all of which was decidedly Vulcan. Not that it held much significance to him beyond being...familiar.
Or so he told himself.
“I believe I have found an adequate living space,” he said to the Tablet after having a look around. “I extend my gratitude to Miss Summers for offering me lodging.”

We will be conducting a survey of everything within the city to broaden our understanding of the environment we are in. Lieutenant Uhura and Ensign Gaila, you will be assisting me in gathering tricorder scans on objects native to the city. Ensign, you will focus on botany and any other organic life forms aside from the Extras. Lieutenant, focus your efforts on native buildings and items obtained from the hatches. Discussion and analysis will be conducted once we have established some data.
Spock Out.

I will let you know if I require assistance, though I assure you it will not be necessary.
[ voice ]
Sure thing. No problem.
[ voice ]
yeah right.]Interesting. So you are well adept to lifting heavy objects?
...and, being intelligent and well dressed, of course.
[ voice ]
But yes, I'm strong. Stronger than... most people.
[ voice ]
I am also stronger than a majority of Humans as well, but do you take issue to my inquiring why that is the case for you?
[ voice ]
I'm the Slayer. Or a Slayer, technically. I slay vampires and demons and in return I get a bunch of superpowers and absolutely no social life. ...I'm surprised Jim didn't tell you.
[ Then again, she knew Bones was more Kirk's friend on a personal level, so perhaps he and Spock didn't talk about girlfriend-related stuff. ]

"Kara. It's similar to the design of furniture on my home planet."

"I have not seen anything like this in the city until today. Perhaps upon further exploration you will find something more like your home world."

He pauses a moment, furrowing his eyebrows a bit before continuing. "You have been here a few days. Have you successfully settled into the city?"
[ visual ]
She lets out a small laugh at that. "As well as I can, I guess. I'm still looking for a place to live, but maybe Conner brought some place with him and I can move in there."
[ visual ]
He raises an eyebrow at her laugh, as he does not see what is so amusing.
"Perhaps. It would appear any unoccupied location in the city may be claimed for a home."
