The Doctor hatched a set of handcuffs. They were for him to use. The last time he'd let someone else restrain the Master, the Doctor had held him, still in restraints, as he died. That wouldn't happen this time. The Doctor would save him. Somehow.

Everything was ready. It was just time to move forward.

OOC: Final post for the Master's plot! Everything is in individual threads and threadhopping is encouraged. If you see that this needs another plotty starter thread, drop me a line and let me know!

The Doctor handed John the drill and nodded. The map Piper had hadn't circulated, as far as the Doctor knew, but he didn't want to wait in case she got antsy and decided to spill the Master's location.

"Right, everybody," he said, playing the role of leader. "Let's move out. Set your tablets to lock out the Master and all of the victims, all right, all of them. He might be listening in. Everybody try to stay together. The last thing we need is for someone to become another hostage. And remember! We're capturing the Master, not killing him."

Piper chose to stay at the back, and watched silently as the Doctor gave his orders. She's already decided to stay behind, feeling as though she'd only do more harm than good if she went along. And she might, considering her power's more defensive than it was offensive, and she had absolutely no fighting skills at all.

She rubbed her arms, and began to pray - for the success of this rescue mission, and most of all, for the safety of the victims.

Please, please be safe, Tara.

Mabel stands next to the doctor, listening. She has no armor to speak of, but she hatched some durable clothing and solid boots. There's a knife in her inner pocket - one she isn't going to tell the Doctor about, it's just for emergencies - and her bat rests on her shoulder.

She'd find a flippant remark to say here, but she's mostly just frustrated. She has specific skills and again in Taxon, they're no use.

At least she'd get to hit some people.

Fred's relegated toward the back, too. The official reason is that she needs to be available to fix the equipment if the Doctor's not. The real reason, she suspects, is because he's worried about the Master targeting her in what's sure to be chaos.

Regardless of why, she stands back with Piper, ready to jump in if she needs to. She'd feel better if she had a crossbow, or a knife, or anything really.

While she waits, she gives Piper a weak, but hopefully reassuring smile. They'll get everyone back.

She catches an unfamiliar woman smiling at her, and in some way Piper feels reassured. If only one man was behind all this, with the number of rescuers involved it won't be long until they will get everyone back. She smiles back, before making her way towards the woman.

"Hello," she says - which is odd, because this isn't the time to actually make conversation. But she's feeling antsy and talking is a good way to divert excess energy.

"Hi," Fred replies with a nod. She's honestly relieved to have something to divert her away from her tension for a moment. "I'm Fred Burkle. Are you as nervous about this whole thing as I am? It's right before the rescue starts up that always seems to take forever."

Piper chuckles and tucks her hair behind her ears. "Piper Halliwell," she offers. "Nervous and wishing things were over before they even begin? That's... probably how I feel, right about now."

She stares at Fred for some time. "You, uh... it seems like you have experience in this sort of thing," Piper observes.

She nods at the question, because she'd really like this to be over with, and for everyone to be safe and sound already.

The note about being used to it gets another nod, and a vaguely sheepish look. "I worked for a supernatural detective agency back home- generally stuff having to do with demons. It actually didn't involve rescuing quite as much as you might think from that, but it was definitely one of those ever-present elements. Makes you miss when people are bringing their kids in with a third eye..."

Then she recognizes something. "Oh, you're Piper? You're the one that found this location, right? Thank you for that. I thought we were going to have to sweep the city when I first hear about this..."

"...demons?" In theory she really shouldn't be surprised - people in Taxon seem to be well-versed in things that go bump in the night. Piper didn't have to hide what she is, not here. "I see. Something else we have in common, then."

Piper then gets a bit flustered. She looks down on the floor. "Uh... yeah, I did. I'm glad I was able to do something to help, even though at first I was a bit afraid to try and do it." She shakes her head. "It didn't help that the Doctor seemed to be so skeptical about the whole locator spell working, too."
