Spike sits at a table, looking straight into the tablet. His arms are crossed, and he looks annoyed.
"All right, I'm looking for a girl," he says. "She was one of the people the Master took, long brown hair, very pretty, probably knows Drusilla. You all right, love?" He doesn't know her name, and he still feels bad about not pulling her out. But he had to take down Drusilla first.
He pauses for a moment, licking his lips, then leans forward. "Not actually her I need, though, I put my coat over her during the fight. It's a long, black leather duster, and I'm bloody attached to it. So whoever's got it, give it back."
He clicks off the transmission and sits back to wait for answers.

Re: [voice]
[Sharply, as she's not really herself, at the moment.]
Do you know who took Miss Edith?
[voice]
...you two are close, then?
Re: [voice]
[Yes, she is really not herself.]
Drusilla has offered me care on a couple of occasions, and I am returning the favour.
[voice]
[It's too bad Spike doesn't know how she is normally.]
Don't trust her too far.
Re: [voice]
I have had moments of unconsciousness around both yourself and Drusilla, and yet only one of you has ever taken something from me while I was in that state. Pray tell, why should I trust you?
[voice]
I'm not telling you to trust me, I'm telling you to be careful. No one knows Dru better than I do. She's got a chip that stops her from directly hurting anyone, but don't let that fool you into thinking she's harmless. She doesn't have to attack to hurt you. And you might've noticed she's a little insane. Her ideas of what's good and right probably aren't the same as yours. And I'll remind you that I was helping with the bloody rescuing when she was torturing my friends.
As for the doll, I'll bring her round cause Dru asked me too, but you could stand to be a bit nicer, love. If I'd known you'd be such a bitch about it, maybe I wouldn't have tried to help you in the first place.
[Yes, he would have. Hero. It's a thing. But he's annoyed.]
Re: [voice]
I did not ask for your assistance, nor, in my state, when you stole from me, would I have missed it.
[voice]
You can get the doll yourself if you want it. It's at the Hyperion. Believe me, I'm done assisting you.
Re: [voice]
To understand you clearly, immediately upon asking about my well-being, you demand for your coat back, in a less than civil manner. That does not indicate any real concern for the state of my health. How is leaving me with a coat and taking Miss Edith to assist you in a fight assisting me in any way?
Next, you are annoyed that I do not appreciate something being stolen from me. Yet after I confirmed the correct person with whom to get in contact, as I am not physically capable of returning your coat myself, nor am I in possession of it, you refuse to return what you took because my tone offends you? You refuse to do so, even though both myself, and Drusilla have asked you to do so, and nor was it yours to take in the first place.
Your logic, escapes me, as, by your argumentation, I could simply ask Master Casey not to return your coat because your tone and previous actions offend me. While I would not actually do such a thing, your logic does call for it.
Perhaps, to save you the trouble of assisting me, you could simply take the doll with you when you retrieve your coat. Master Casey would then be able to deliver it to Guinevere.
[voice]
I'm never very civil. Better than I used to be, but I'll never be as impeccably spoken and coldly polite as you're being. Not my way. Doesn't mean I'm not concerned. If you got hurt more cause I wasn't-- [He breaks off.] Anyway, that's what the coat was for. If Casey hadn't gotten you out, I was gonna go find you when I was done with Dru.
And the doll's not yours, it's Dru's. Don't know what happened between the two of you or why she wants you to have it now, but I'd know that doll anywhere, and besides, it smells like her. It's not like I walked off with your purse.
Re: [voice]
You explanation is much more acceptable, and since you took the time to clarify your behaviour, allow me to do likewise.
The doll was given to me for safekeeping. As it is something of the utmost value to Drusilla, I would take such a task with all due seriousness. I was distressed, upon awakening, to discover I had already failed in my duty.
May we make some more reasonable arrangements for the return of the doll now? Would the go-between of Master Casey be acceptable to you?
[voice]
And I'm serious. Watch your back with Drusilla.
Re: [voice]
Thank you, sir. I would appreciate it.
And I will take your warning under advisement.
[voice]
Name's Spike, by the way.
Re: [voice]
[voice]
Well, it's nice talking to you while you're not unconscious.
Re: [voice]
[There is a reason for asking, not that she's sharing it.]
I did not reply, did I?
[voice]
Not that I noticed. Is this a problem too, highness? It's not like I took advantage. I just talk sometimes.
Re: [voice]
I apologize sir; your talking did not offend me, as I'm sure it was meant in kindness.
There have just been some repercussions [and that's as detailed as she's getting with a virtual stranger] due to my injuries. I was only trying to establish if they began as early as the rescue.
[voice]
And stop calling me sir, it makes me sound old. [he's only 152!]
Re: [voice]
[Incredibly curious stranger, meet politely private lady.]
So what am I to call you then? We are not acquainted well enough to call you by your given name, and I called Sir Owain, 'sir' even though he was younger than me.
[voice]
I'm not Sir Owain, am I? Just call me Spike. Everyone does. And if it makes you feel better, it's not my given name.
Re: [voice]
Do not be concerned, my condition is being closely watched.
[Witness avoidance tactics in their natural habitat.]
And, as you wish, Spike. [That might have sounded fairly awkward.]
[voice]
[Part of having a soul is caring whether strangers live or die.]
Thanks, pet. Just feels a bit weird for me.
Re: [voice]
Sir -- Spike -- you mentioned a Cordelia was one of the victims. May I inquire as to her well-being?
