[ good thing Piper's already done with preparing the food before crazy things started happening to Taxon. ]

Okay, I don't know what's going on with the tablets or the hatches, but, um... is there anyone out there who can tell me where the makeshift bunkers can be found? And also with carrying the food to the bunkers? There's... um, quite a lot of them and I would appreciate anyone's help very much.

Kaylee! Hi. Boy, am I glad to hear you.

Yeah, I do, actually. So far I have Caritas and Wolfram and Hart on my list. Am I missing anything?

Glad to be heard. [ Smiling again in no time, yep. ]

Alright then...we got: Buffy's castle, Caritas, Northern Island, Wolfram and Hart. Also got a couple basements Tony 'n I were able to find out. [ And she spouts off the coordinates of those as well. ]

Superboy 'n I talked some about Titan's Tower, too, so if you hear from him at all you might wanna double check on it before we start movin' things about over there.

[ she actually knows two of those places. piper writes these down on her clipboard. ] Uh-huh. Got them. Already sent a few things over at Caritas and Wolfram and Hart. Just waiting for a few more able bodies for the others, now.

[ quietly, now: ] How are you doing?

Well, you're the boss for the resources. If I can help with those, I'd be more'n glad to. Just tell me where to go with 'em.

[ Her voice is convincing--it's a good thing Piper can't see her face right now, though. ] Shiny, actually. It's been quiet over here, mostly tryin' to finish up...well, I've been tryin' to rig some sort of communication, which turned into somethin' a little more important when the tablets started fizzin' out. Hot, though.

No, Kaylee. You've done enough with the bunkers. You should probably rest once everything's set. I'm sure there'll be others up for the task of delivering.

[ she sighs. ] The heat is terrible, and could have come at a better time. It's odd with the tablets, though. Have they acted like this before?

I'll rest plenty, but that'll be after everythin's set. Can't just sit by and expect everybody else to do everythin', can I.

Not exactly? They've gone a bit haywire before, and it's normally turned out to be the aliens makin' some kinda contact, but they haven't shut down everythin' like this before...

Well... your call, I guess. Just don't overexert yourself, okay?

They haven't? Huh, okay. [ she takes a deep breath. ] You think... do you think it's starting? The, um... event?

Takes a lot more than a little bit of heat and a busy day to wear me down, cross my heart.

Given the Extras are now on the fritz too, by the look of it... [ SIGH. ] Don't wanna jump to conclusions, but we should be ready for anythin'.

I know. It's just... [ nope, don't panic, piper. everything's going to be all right. ]

I'll probably just save my nerves for when the actual apocalypse is starting, right? [ and her voice finally cracks. it's hard to be brave when one feels so alone, after all. ]
