"—sexual intercourse, I've said it like a dozen… Xander?" Anya frowns. Xander's basement is far from a pleasant place, but it is somewhat less metallic and plus, there is Xander and juice boxes and she's pretty sure from the way he'd been staring at her that he was going to end up engaging in coitus with her, except now he's gone.

She crosses her arms and frowns. "This isn't funny! Where are you, Xander? Is this because you're friends with the Slayer? Because I don't think it's fair that I suffer just because you guys keep pissing off very powerful evil forces."

As it becomes clearer and clearer that Xander is not here, and the demon behind this is not making itself known, she shifts from foot to foot uncomfortably.

"Hello? Anyone?" She glances around, looking sulky. "I'm getting cold."

"Yes, that's me, er..." She's certain someone introduced her to the Watcher who wasn't Giles, but she can't remember his name. "Giles' assistant, right?"

[demonologist]

She must be from an earlier time. He tries not to take affront at her description of him.

"Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. I was never actually Mr. Giles' assistant, by the way. The Watcher organisation appoints members specific positions regardless of--"

He reins himself in realising that this will not be helpful considering the girl's current situation.

"Do you need...assistance?"

Anya is very glad he stopped talking about things that are boring. She doesn't really care about the Watcher organization, and doubts they'd take kindly to an ex-demon. "Cordelia is bringing me clothing. So no."

[demonologist]

She's being a little abrupt but as he recalls she was always a bit like that. "Oh, excellent. Well, she can fill you in, then, on our current situation."

She doesn't really know what else to say, so she just stands there, awkward and naked for a moment before adding, "I see you didn't die during the Ascension. I was pretty sure you would."

[demonologist]

Wesley looks down for a moment. "Yes, I was lucky enough to be knocked out fairly quickly and missed most of the actual fighting." He's not exactly proud of that.

[Visual]

[exdemon]

She nods. "Oh, that makes sense. If you weren't doing much fighting and Buffy killed the thing before it could eat everyone, you would survive. And did, clearly." After a moment, she adds encouragingly, "Good for you!"

[demonologist]

"Thanks." What else can you say to that? "And good for you, too. Apparently. Or did you get out of there before the big confrontation.?"

"Do I look stupid? I didn't stick around. Some of us have a healthy respect for staying alive."

[Visual]

[demonologist]

"I suppose I was one of the stupid ones, then. Believing in a cause greater than myself." He tilts his head to the side while regarding her. "Don't you think some things are worth fighting for?"

[Visual]

[exdemon]

"My life. Hurting people who hurt me. Sure." Anya shrugs. "But unless I find my power center, I'm limited to approximately 50-70 years left. I am not about to cut that time any shorter."

[Visual]

[demonologist]

"Ah, yes. It must be terrible to be confined to a normal human's lifespan. Barring accidents and murder, of course."

"Yes!" Anya nods earnestly, completely missing the fact that Wes is being acerbic. "I'm so glad you understand... um. Whatever your name was."
