012 [ accidental video | location: hyperion hotel ] a kick in the teeth is good for some

Spike is sitting on the floor in the Hyperion lobby hunched over and concentrating hard. He's holding a deck of cards, and several other piles are in front of him on a foot stool in the solitaire set-up. He moves an ace up and stares at the cards for a little while before flipping three down. Then he moves the cards around again. This continues for a while until finally, he shifts into his vampire face. His forehead wrinkles up and his eyes turn yellow, teeth lengthening.

He growls and knocks over the table, sending cards flying. He smiles for a minute. It's vaguely satisfying, but it doesn't really help anything.

Spike sighs and lets his features go back to being human, then turns to the tablet. He notices it's already recording, but at this point it's really too late to do anything about it. He picks it up and speaks into it.

"Anyone want to fight? I'm this close to seeing if I can hatch a demon to kill, I am so bloody bored."

She dodges and moves a few paces away, smirking with her hands on her hips. "I thought it was the kind of present that would be better off shared. You don't agree?"

And then Kara's moving back towards him, at normal human speed, and aiming a kick at his stomach. It's definitely not at full strength, but it's not like it won't sting a bit, either.

The kick sends him flying, and he lands in a heap. "How generous." He struggles to his feet, then starts walking back towards her.

She stands in a defensive position, smirk having fallen off her face. Her tone of voice is still rather playful, though. "I thought it was."

Spike still is smirking, despite the kick. This time he comes at her, feinting a punch, then going for a kick to her legs, attempting to knock her over.

She lets him sweep her legs out from under her, but since she can fly it doesn't do much good. But she doesn't stay in the air long, just long enough to get behind him and aim a soft shove between his shoulder blades.

He stumbles forward, then whips around, trying to sink his fist into her side. "Flying's unfair," he grumbles, but he doesn't particularly try to stop her from doing it. He'll take whatever odds he gets.

"Then you should've banned it when you banned heat vision," she says as she dodges just enough so the fist will glance off her side. "And be grateful I'm not really using my speed, either." Kara then pivots and aims a kick for Spike's chest, silently thanking Rao she decided to ditch the heels. That would probably hurt him more than either of them would be okay with.

Spike twists away so that the kick just catches his side. "Wasn't banning it, just complaining!" He growls and stands back, waiting for her next attack. Hopefully, he'll be able to block and take advantage of some sort of opening when she next attacks. He's used a similar approach against Illyria before.

And one convenient time-skip later, Kara's flopped down on the ground, laughing a little as she stares up at the fake sky. "Not bad, Spike," she says before turning to look at him. "I didn't accidentally hurt you or anything, did I?"

He shakes his head, drinking deeply from the pig's blood he hatched. "I'm all right." All right, she did hurt him, but nothing that won't heal after some blood and a little rest. "You're bloody strong, though."

"Super strong, actually." Okay, it's a lame joke, but she's grinning and coming off an adrenaline high form the fight, so it's really all she can do right now.

He glances over at her and quirks an eyebrow. "You had fun, then? Even if I'm not quite able to keep up?"

Not that he's worried about how a different insanely powerful girl might be feeling.

She just turns her head and gives him an incredulous look. "Do you have any idea how long it's been since I've actually been able to hit something and not have to worry about my hand going through a punching bag or a wall?"

Which, translated, means hell yes she had fun, stop worrying.

Spike grins. "Just making sure." It is kind of a relief. He drains the bag of blood, then tosses it away.

She looks at the empty bag. And then back at Spike. And then to the bag again. Cue a raised eyebrow and pointed look being directed at her companion.

It takes him a moment, then he catches on. "I'll throw it in the rubbish bin when I get up. Just don't want to stuff a bloody bag in my pocket."
