[ Boredom is a dangerous thing. It can lead to all kinds of bizarre pursuits, such as the one Buffy is currently on. She's taken it into her head to attempt to procure a replacement toy from her childhood, and the toy store at the mall seems to be the logical place to do that. Unfortunately she's not paying attention to her tablet, which is indeed recording. Also unfortunately, the search isn't going well. There is some muttering under her breath: ]

Never? That's... [ there isn't really an adjective to reflect buffy's feelings on the circumstances of max's childhood, which she knows just enough of to know that it was terrible, so she trails off, which probably says enough. ]

...it's nothing, really. I used to have this stuffed pig called Mr. Gordo, but I lost it a few milennia ago. I was kinda hoping to find a replacement.

Yeah. [ max's voice goes a bit soft at that. the closest she came to having toys was the time she lived with lucy and her family, but there wasn't even much in the way of toys there. the few toys lucy did play with were either broken or in bad shape, and since max didn't see the point in playing with them at the time, she didn't want to take them away from her. there had been that balloon she and her unit had found back at manticore shortly before the escape, but they'd only had that for a few seconds before being forced to set it free. ]

Think maybe you could hatch one?

Probably. [ insert the sound of a shrug here. ] I guess either way, it won't be exactly the same as the old one - which is at the bottom of a crater now, so probably all dusty and gross anyway.
