5% [location: Shelley; Spencer's... beautiful two story home??]
After spending a week in a female body, Spencer had been thrilled to finally wake up as himself again. He was all out of sorts yesterday. He tried to read and work on running his stats of arrivals and departures, but he couldn't concentrate. Around 9 o'clock, he fell into bed.
This morning, he woke to the sensation that there was somebody in bed with him. He nearly fell out of the bed when he realized that it was Beckett. Quietly, so as not to wake her, he had slipped from his room into... a house? His apartment had turned quite suddenly into something that it was not last night. His furniture was now art deco and he had a television - one that he suspected only showed programs in black and white.
Spencer had made his way to the kitchen and brewed a cup of coffee in an ancient looking pot (which somehow worked like it was brand new). Now he stood staring out the large window in the kitchen, clutching his mug of coffee and contemplating the beautiful manicured green lawn in front of him, which stretched to a white picket fence.
He pushed his glasses up his nose and wrapped his robe further around him. Spencer had no idea what to make or this, or what to make of waking up to find Beckett sleeping beside him.
[OOC - This is for Spencer, Kate, River, Ax and Kara to have their family shenanigans. Although, any friendly neighbors who want to stop by are also welcome.]

"What?!" Has this glitch made everyone go mad except for him? "I do not live in a human house!"
Then he freezes when he realizes that Reid does not yet know he isn't human. "I am not a human," he says, trying to calm his shock his confusion. "I am an Andalite. This is my human morph. Some form of glitch has trapped me in my human form and brought me to your house. I don't live here."
no subject
"Listen. I spoke to Kara during the bodyswap... mess. She was in your body. I've seen your true form. And technically I don't live here either. This isn't my house. But this glitch seems to want to set us up as a family unit - I'm the father and you're my son. I know you don't like it... but we need to go along with it because the glitch has made Beckett think this is all real."

"My father?" Ax echoes in disbelief. He assumes that Beckett must be the woman from the photograph - his "mother." "You realize my human form bears no physical resemblance to either of you?" But then, since when did glitches make sense?
He wonders why Reid hasn't just told Beckett that none of this is real, and does a quick cost-benefit analysis in his head. The benefit of revealing the illusion to Beckett is that he will not be forced to act out this farce. However, it may take an entire week to convince her of the truth, and by then the glitch will likely be over. In the meantime, Beckett may think her "child" to be dangerously unstable and physically restrain him from leaving the house, a confrontation he cannot hope to win in his human form. Conversely, there are benefits to keeping up appearances. If Beckett believes she is Ax's mother, she will feed him and wash his clothing. Should something go amiss with his human body, she will help fix it. In short, she will take care of him for the duration of the glitch.
"I will maintain the illusion," says Ax. Then he adds, in thought-speech, «It seems that my ability to thought-speak remains. Since thought-speech can be restricted to specific targets, I may use this form of communication when Beckett is present.»

He stood back sizing up Ax's human form. He was right: there was no way that Ax even remotely resembled he or Kate. The aliens were quite ridiculous.
"When you use the... thought-speech... I'm the only one who can hear it?"
no subject
"Thought-speech is comparable to your email. I can broadcast it to anyone within range, or I can direct it to specific recipients. You will not be able to reply, of course, but it could prove useful."
He looks down at himself and his absurd pinstriped sleeping garments.
"I suppose there will be clothes appropriate to my body size in my room."
It chafes to refer to that room as his, but he will have to tolerate it for the duration.

Spencer had to admit, that could be quite useful to communicate things without Kate catching on. He just hoped they could do it in an inconspicuous manner.
"And I'm assuming so, yes."
no subject
"What's going on, guys?"

Ax can't help but jump a little at the contact to his temple. His aversion to physical contact is not as strong in his human form, but the cultural taboo remains. He takes in a steadying breath. "I was discussing with Father what I should wear this morning. I was worried that some of my clothing might not fit anymore." Plausible enough, since he seemed to be an adolescent male, and not far from the truth of their conversation - or the end of it, at any rate.
