Kate had been pacing in her room since she recovered from the glitch, trying to determine how to best address the situation. She was pretty mortified by her actions, especially with her "family." She wasn't sure how to act around Reid at all, not to mention the way she'd completely mothered River and Ax. Finally, Kate turned on the tablet, then cleared her throat and took a deep breath before she spoke.

"So, uh...I realize now that I was glitched. Needless to say, I had no idea what was going on, though it seems like I was only one of a few who didn't...you know what, that doesn't even matter.

I just...I want to say thank you to everyone who knew about the glitch and showed me kindness. Especially Spe-Reid, River, and Ax. I...just thank you."

Kate buried her face in her hands.

"I kind of wish I didn't remember everything that happened."

Hmm, yeah, that doesn't sound like something a gift basket can fix. Have you talked to him at all since we all went back to normal?

Yeah, if you can call it that. We had an awkward conversation over coffee the morning after, and then a slightly less awkward conversation later that day.

I don't know, thinking about how I acted during the glitch just makes me start wondering about how happy I was. Not just with the housewife thing, but as a mother...a wife. Things I hadn't given a whole lot of thought to before, you know?

Mmm. Well how do you feel thinking about these things? Are you all, "Oh, that stuff's ridiculous!" or are you going, "Hmm, this is something I should have been thinking about awhile ago."?

It's actually more of a "Oh, I have a teenage crush on my roommate, and I never considered it until he was my husband!" Hence my not-so-minor freak out.

Gotcha. But you two are talking. That's good, yeah?

I guess. It's just high school levels of awkward.

What about you and The Doctor? Has it been weird adjusting back to non-married life?

[She waved it away.] Nah. Wasn't the first time I've been married in a dream world. Though that time, I was pregnant too. It was mad at the time. [Realizing she was probably being confusing, she backtracked.]

I mean, ok. My boyfriend and I were married in the dream world, and I was pregnant. And the Doctor came to visit. Then we realized we were being messed with and all sorts of nonsense happened. So this time, when I woke up, I thought it was sort of like that other time, and even though it was weird, we moved on, like we always do.

Oh. Well, that makes sense, I guess. But did you guys...you know...during the glitch?

I'm sorry. That was a horribly personal question to ask. You don't have to answer that. [But she really wants you to answer.]

[She chuckles.] Nope. Maybe we were too wholesome to bother, I dunno. But in the end, it's a good thing we didn't, because my real husband is gonna be jealous as it is, once we get out of here and he hears about this. [After a pause, she adds,] Maybe we should skip that part when telling him about this place.

I think if Reid had been glitched as well, we would have, but thankfully he was very much the gentleman to me.

Yeah...I would probably skip that part when regaling him with stories of our time here.

Ah, always good to have a gentleman as your pseudo-husband, huh?

It's a funny story, but he tends to get jealous of the Doctor sometimes, so no, definitely not a good idea.

Yes, I think a lesser man wouldn't have been such a gentleman. It was...enlightening, to say the least.

I can imagine he could be jealous. You and the Doctor spend a lot of time together. Guys get insecure about that sometimes.

Yeah. At least he's better at trusting us together than he used to be. [She tilts her head to the side, thinking.] So what do you think will happen with you and Spencer?

[Kate scoffs.] Probably nothing. Or we'll dance awkwardly around each other until either I get over it, or he demands I move out, whichever comes first.

Does it even make sense to pursue a relationship here? Who even knows how long we'll be stuck in this place? Maybe what happens here, stays here?

That's true... But maybe you should just make the most of it while you can.

Good point. [She giggles.] A girl has needs, after all.

Very true. And if there's a way to take care of those needs, well let's just say there's no need to mope wondering 'what if,' right? [She winks.]
