Spencer was a bit taken aback when Jason interrupted. It had slipped his mind that these lines weren't secure. In this case, it wasn't a big deal, but in the future the discussion could be about something sensitive in nature and he wouldn't want to wrong people to hear about it.

"Thanks. If I'm being honest... someone like him has more of the skills necessary for keeping the peace than someone like myself. I-I can do research though. And you'd be in a good place if Taxon ever got a serial killer."
