Case #7 [Location: Taxon Mall]

The tablet turns on without Kate's knowledge from it's position on the counter of the Kate and Amy's shoe store at the mall. Kate is leaned back on a bench, her foot in the air, a stiletto heel on it. Next to her is a bottle of the free whiskey, half empty (or half full, depending on your view). Kate took advantage of the last day of free alcohol to unwind a bit and try on some shoes.

She glanced over her shoulder and noticed the red light of the tablet on. She gestured to her foot.

"What do you think? Are they me? I can't decide."

She turned and grinned at the tablet.

"If anyone is bored, feel free to come down and try on some shoes with me! Retail therapy is always helpful."

[She grins at the sound of Spencer's voice, then turns to look at him in the tablet.]

I wouldn't really call this work, Spencer. I don't even have to ring up people's shoes.

I was here. And I like shoes. And I needed something to do, I guess.

"I think they are," Elisa said. "Not exactly a shoe person myself... but they work for you."

That had been true even when she could wear shoes. Functionality had been way more important than looking good.

Kate grinned at her friend.

"I've always had a thing for shoes, myself. I learned how to run in these things just to show the guys at work that I could."

She gestured to the bottle.

"What about whiskey? Are you a whiskey person?"

She grinned again. "Why yes, yes I am."

Kate gave a wave of her arm, gesturing toward her bottle.

"You're more than welcome to come down and partake of my whiskey if you want. Give you an excuse to get out of the house."

She grinned as she watched Elisa's transmission click off. She found another pair of shoes to try on while she waited for her friend.
