now i rock a house party at the drop of a hat.

It's around five o'clock in the morning when the citizens of Taxon find themselves inexplicably transported into rooms within the Sanctuary. Doors are left open and beds unmade, food abandoned and lights left on, still shining brightly for those who were awake and are no longer present. The Extras don't seem to notice the captive population's sudden disappearance, continuing on with their business as usual.

For those relocated, though, it's an entirely different story.

They find themselves in rooms with white, alabaster walls that gives them an almost too-clean feeling, as if the entire place was sanitized prior to their arrival. The room assignments are seemingly random, people placed on floors with those they don't know and don't like, people they would rather not be within twenty feet of. It matters not, for what's done is done and cannot be undone. For those who happen to have pets, they'll find them waiting for their owners in the rooms as if nothing is out of the ordinary.

The only thing the captives have managed to bring with them is the clothes on their back and the tablets. On them, they find the following message:
SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE PLEASE ENJOY YOUR STAY WHILE WE ADDRESS CERTAIN TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
Unfortunately for those who try to find a means of escape, they'll discover there is none. Leaving the Sanctuary will prove to be as difficult as leaving Taxon itself. However, if one heads down the right corridor and the right floor, they'll find something else entirely lurking in their midst...

( ooc | sorry for the delay in posting! your mods were otherwise occupied with things of the irl variety this morning. THIS BE A PARTY POST, Y'ALL. room assignments are here, and refer back to the sott post proper for any additional information. please contact us with any questions/concerns you may have in regards to this plot. ♥ )

Dawn's room is far, far below the twelfth floor, but she's currently exploring. In shortie pjs with baby ducks on them so maybe not the most dignified exploring, but exploring nonetheless. She's careful to scuff her feet a little as she comes up behind Connor.

"We're all here. It's... a kidnapping in a kidnapping." Thrilled, Dawn is not.

Even without the thoughtful scuffing of her feet, he had heard her approaching from several yards off, caught her scent and took a moment to commit it to memory. It wasn't until she spoke, however, that he was able to identify her, and the tension that had forced his shoulders to go rigid had begun to ease. He turned to face her, frowning as he considered their situation.

"Because we just weren't kidnapped enough," he summed up dryly. "Are you okay?"

"I know I wasn't feeling quite enough like an ant in an ant farm, so I personally am in full support of yet more annoying and upsetting trapped-ness." Dawn rolls her eyes and shakes her head, tucking a few loose strands of ponytail that fly loose behind her ears. "And I'm okay. Not thrilled, but you know. Also not dead, which is always a plus. How about you?"

"Not dead is good," Connor confirmed with a smile. Dawn had an interesting way of speaking, at least in his opinion. It made it hard to take things too seriously, probably a good thing at the moment. "I'm fine. Nothing hurt. Just don't know why we're here."

He paused, glancing upwards and giving the air a single sniff. "There's a LOT of people here."

"In general for non-evil people, it's a plus." Dawn still can't help the way Connor makes her heart go a little faster, but even if he doesn't remember just seeing him again is amazing. With or without mutual crushes. "I have a feeling none of us are going to know why we're here. The people in charge aren't big on explanations. Mostly they just enjoy sucking at life."

She follows his gaze, nodding. "I looked at the map, so far it seems like... actually everybody."

"Everyone all in one place..." Connor mused aloud, giving a thoughtful frown as he considered the various implications of such an arrangement. This had the potential to get messy, didn't it? Lots of people of varying origin all in one place always had the potential to get messy. "Think it'll lead to trouble?"

He didn't know enough about Taxon just yet to know how many among their number, if any, were hostile. It had become second nature long ago to just assume that anyone could turn out to be an enemy, given enough time. "I don't actually know... how dangerous this place is."

Dawn shrugs one shoulder delicately, mouth twisting into a frown. "Honestly? They don't really... do 'here guys, have a sleepover'. Nice things have a price here." She lowers her shoulder, sighing. "So... it might. Murphy's Taxon Law."

A pause. "In general? Not very. It's actually on the boring side. But then things happen, and all of a sudden it can get really dangerous."

"Who's Murphy?" Connor asked in passing, and just as quickly he moved on to the next question, considering Dawn's appraisal of Taxon's safety.

"Even boring places can be dangerous. You should always be prepared. You never want your enemy to catch you unaware." He nodded once for emphasis. "Always be ready for things to 'happen.'" He paused, looking down as he realized he couldn't have been telling Dawn anything she didn't already know. She had a good head on her shoulders.

"... sorry. You don't need a lecture."
