now i rock a house party at the drop of a hat.
It's around five o'clock in the morning when the citizens of Taxon find themselves inexplicably transported into rooms within the Sanctuary. Doors are left open and beds unmade, food abandoned and lights left on, still shining brightly for those who were awake and are no longer present. The Extras don't seem to notice the captive population's sudden disappearance, continuing on with their business as usual.
For those relocated, though, it's an entirely different story.
They find themselves in rooms with white, alabaster walls that gives them an almost too-clean feeling, as if the entire place was sanitized prior to their arrival. The room assignments are seemingly random, people placed on floors with those they don't know and don't like, people they would rather not be within twenty feet of. It matters not, for what's done is done and cannot be undone. For those who happen to have pets, they'll find them waiting for their owners in the rooms as if nothing is out of the ordinary.
The only thing the captives have managed to bring with them is the clothes on their back and the tablets. On them, they find the following message:
( ooc | sorry for the delay in posting! your mods were otherwise occupied with things of the irl variety this morning. THIS BE A PARTY POST, Y'ALL. room assignments are here, and refer back to the sott post proper for any additional information. please contact us with any questions/concerns you may have in regards to this plot. ♥ )

SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE PLEASE ENJOY YOUR STAY WHILE WE ADDRESS CERTAIN TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIESUnfortunately for those who try to find a means of escape, they'll discover there is none. Leaving the Sanctuary will prove to be as difficult as leaving Taxon itself. However, if one heads down the right corridor and the right floor, they'll find something else entirely lurking in their midst...

"And I don't recall noticing you being gone," Fitz replied and shook his head. "Which is a crime since who could forget you. Do you remember something like this happening before? To anyone?"

"I can only think of it happenin' once, maybe twice? I know for sure it happened to River. She was gone for a while, not a one of us thought of her 'til she was back, and she didn't remember nothin' either." It's...scary, to say the least. Anything could have happened during that time, and there was no way of telling what.

How would be take it? Knowing that more than one of them could vanish without notice, then return after an interminable amount of time with no knowledge of-- Fitz drained his coffee and got to his feet. This place kept getting worse.
"Can I bring you something, love? They're limiting our resources here but your wish is my command."

Maybe it's got something to do with her Taxon-programming or whatever. If other people are glitching out like that, it means that it isn't just her. It is the system itself, not one particular piece of it. Not that Kaylee really wants to focus on that right now. No, maybe it would be better to get situated and then question the hamster logic upstairs.
"Clothes'd be nice," she laughs, but she's also halfway to the door to go hunt down a hatch of some kind. "Wouldn't happen to know your way around the place in any fashion, would ya?" Company is always nicer than bringing up a map...

It was a philosophy that had served him well for years, coping via a a blend of hedonism and denial. Of course her question of his familiarity with the Sanctuary butted right against the latter of those.
"Yeah, they've redecorated a bit but I was living here before--" Go on, Kreiner, say it. "--the zombies. Want me to find you?"
[ visual ]
Or, at least, more of her exact thinking since arriving in Taxon. Sometimes it was just...easier.
Ugh, zombies. Kaylee wrinkled her nose at the mention of them, but nodded her head. "If you like. Could use a tour of some kind, ain't ever been in here more'n the five minutes when I first arrived." A year and a half ago.
