now i rock a house party at the drop of a hat.

It's around five o'clock in the morning when the citizens of Taxon find themselves inexplicably transported into rooms within the Sanctuary. Doors are left open and beds unmade, food abandoned and lights left on, still shining brightly for those who were awake and are no longer present. The Extras don't seem to notice the captive population's sudden disappearance, continuing on with their business as usual.

For those relocated, though, it's an entirely different story.

They find themselves in rooms with white, alabaster walls that gives them an almost too-clean feeling, as if the entire place was sanitized prior to their arrival. The room assignments are seemingly random, people placed on floors with those they don't know and don't like, people they would rather not be within twenty feet of. It matters not, for what's done is done and cannot be undone. For those who happen to have pets, they'll find them waiting for their owners in the rooms as if nothing is out of the ordinary.

The only thing the captives have managed to bring with them is the clothes on their back and the tablets. On them, they find the following message:
SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE PLEASE ENJOY YOUR STAY WHILE WE ADDRESS CERTAIN TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES
Unfortunately for those who try to find a means of escape, they'll discover there is none. Leaving the Sanctuary will prove to be as difficult as leaving Taxon itself. However, if one heads down the right corridor and the right floor, they'll find something else entirely lurking in their midst...

( ooc | sorry for the delay in posting! your mods were otherwise occupied with things of the irl variety this morning. THIS BE A PARTY POST, Y'ALL. room assignments are here, and refer back to the sott post proper for any additional information. please contact us with any questions/concerns you may have in regards to this plot. ♥ )

"The children wouldn't know what to do with you," said Drusilla, examining him as if he was a work of art that she'd discovered by sheer good fortune. She had an eye for these things - trained by her very own grandmother, who would have devoured this boy with relish - and she wouldn't waste it. Being trapped was an irritant, but her fellow prisoners were terribly interesting.

"But I'd know what to do with them." Part of how Damon is with Drusilla is an act; like he did for Katherine all those years ago, swallowing down his disgust and fear and helping her feed, kissing her still bloody lips. Part of it is a reminder to himself: this is what is beneath Elena's much vaunted better man potential. Masochism is a theme with this one.

Drusilla wasn't acting, as such, but she was playing. Life was a game and, as long as she held all the pieces, she joined in happily enough. She wanted to see how far she could push him. She wanted to know if all his beautiful wickedness was just skin deep.

"You'd eat them alive."

"Among other things." Killing just to kill is only Damon's game when he's angry; sometimes feeding gets out of hand, fine. But he's always gone with a gentler touch, or at least a less blatantly murderous-- and lecherous-- one.

That - that cleverness and cruelty and patience - reminded Drusilla of Angelus. He treated murder like a work of art. The gentle touch could, if the hands and the eyes were right, been the most vicious of all.

"Yes," she agreed, "But that's my favourite."

"It's not a waste of time." Damon's choice to flip off his feelings left marks that don't fade just because his switch has been inching back up.

"Not for us," she said, chuckling warmly and fondly at the face on the screen, "We never waste our time. We have everything we need and we can make it into whatever we want. Isn't it beautiful?"

"Gorgeous." His hanging around Drusilla is something of a bad idea, not that Damon will admit it. She reminds him what he's missing.

That was Drusilla. She was a bad idea that burrowed under the skin and into the core and refused to let go. She liked to push people in a way that meant that they didn't even realise they were being pushed.

Most of all, she liked to play.

"Do you remember everyone you eat?"
