slayersidekick: (Why do we keep up this charade)

[visual | location: library] Sweet revenge for what you’ve done to me

It's been a few days, but still, Willow is officially Not. Pleased. Too many things have happened in too short a time. Added to that the little encounter she had with an actual hamster alien and she is angry. The days have not cooled off her temper. In fact, the added time has just made it worse. People have been hurt lately, two of her friends in a close span of time, and as the resident witch, she's starting to think this is going to be her job to sort out. Just what she wanted.

So, she camps out in the library and flips open her tablet, forgetting for a moment what the crackling of her power is going to be doing to her physical appearance. Her hair is still red, clothes still normal, but her eyes are pitch black and when people start to arrive, anyone with any kind of ability to sense power will be able to feel the magic coursing through her. This is a witch not to be messed with.

And when in doubt, blame the hamsters. It's always their fault.

"Okay, whatever is going on needs to stop. I don't like this prison within a prison thing and I don't think anyone else does. And too many people are getting hurt. So. We're going to stop it. I've talked to one of the hamsters. Not long, but it was enough. I want a longer talk. If anyone's interested, meet me in the library on the fifth floor. I have an idea."

[ ooc: the official planning post is HERE. I just figure she'd be the one to get this ball rolling! Library comment thread / tracking down the hamster will come once I figure out interest. (there will be links once comment threads get posted.) Feel free to just respond to her post (if you don't want to turn up for the meeting) or just turn up at the library. She will respond either way.

Let me know if this works / doesn't work for people, hit up the planning post so we can figure things up and tag in over here as you see fit! ]

One of them talked to you?

You talked to one of the hamsters? ... what did it say?

Somebody is named Mayhem? [Cruel parents.]

What's a "glitch"?

Oh. Thanks... I get it.

[He pauses.] What happened to you? Are you okay?

[Magic. He's not sure how he feels, hearing that from Willow. She's the only person whose use of magic he's ever approved of, and even then, he was on the fence.]

I can't think of any reason they could have had for that. [He frowns, unseen.]

Was it on purpose, do you think? Or are glitches accidental sometimes?

Yeah. It's not right... to manipulate people like that.

Nobody should be able to.

Anita flicked her own video feed on a moment later to reply, her expression one of hard resolve. "I'm very interested. I'll be there shortly."

"See you in a few. Need me to grab anything on my way up?"

Its Willow's black eyes which make Quinn panic, and then she remembers - Willow's eyes had been black when she gave her Elena's location. She knows Willow is a witch, but there is a bad feeling creeping into Quinn's stomach.

"Willow...are you? Are you okay?"

"You know I'm with you."

DG had made that much perfectly clear in the past and would continue to do so for as long as it was necessary. She wasn't the only witch in residence and if there was anything they could do to help then they would do it together.

Although it was difficult to look serious in a pair of pyjamas, DG was suitably business like when she joined Willow in the library.

"What did the hamster say?"

"Please say it was something helpful, for once."

Where DG went, Glitch was sure to follow. He couldn't help with anything magical but maybe he could coax his half-a-brain into coming up with other ideas.

At the very least he could show sleepwear solidarity.

Yay, threadjacks!

"Mayhem?" DG repeated, sitting down next to Willow and peering at some of the books on the table, "It's a good name."

And very appropriate, given the mayhem that the captors created in their city. She wondered - not for the first time - how much of the damage was accidental and how much of it was deliberate.

"I wonder if he'll turn up."

"You managed to speak to them?"

Martha sounded surprised, but not skeptical. During her time in the city, the hamsters - if they really were hamsters - had occasionally deigned to speak to their prisoners. The question was whether they'd said anything useful.

"Did you find anything out?"

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-06-30 02:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's a start."

Weird or not, it was the most promising lead that the prisoners had received in a very long time.

"Did it? Then maybe this Mayhem was the alien that brought us here?"

Either into the Sanctuary or into the city itself. And the fact that the hamster was afraid of them was certainly interesting.

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Martha had a lot of experience with aliens from a variety of different planets and had no idea what sort of creature Mayhem might be. Whatever he was, he was bound to be dangerous. No matter how genial or fluffy he appeared on the outside.

"Will you be all right if he tracks you down? We don't know what he is or what he can do."

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"And we know what they can do," Martha pointed out. She wasn't a natural pessimist - she wouldn't have survived her year on the run without the ability to hope - but she was a realist. Even if the hamsters weren't powerful, the people they were working for - whoever they were - certainly were. "Just be careful, ok?"

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-08-15 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's tempting, though, isn't it?" said Martha, only half joking. As far as she was concerned, revenge was pointless - it didn't solve anything and often made things worse - but, at the same time, she could see why the people who had been put through hell by the hamsters would lean towards it. "After everything they've done."

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-08-19 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That was reassuring. At the moment, Martha didn't have much of a say in the person in control of the imprisoned aliens, but she was relieved to learn that the person who was in control seemed to have her priorities straight.

"So do I," she said, her relief probably showing in her face, "We just need to hope that they put in another appearance."

[Visual]

[identity profile] allthatlife.livejournal.com 2011-08-25 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Martha nodded. The aliens were nothing if not unpredictable, but there was a chance that they'd come back. (She wondered what trouble they'd bring with them if they did decide to put in an appearance.)

"Good luck."

"What did they say?"

Although B'Elanna didn't know Willow, the half klingon was eager for any scrap of information that she might be able to put to good use. Like the rest of the prisoners, she was tired of being treated like a chess piece in a game without any particular rules. If they were going to fight back, then nothing would stop her from taking part.

Re: [Visual]

[identity profile] aklingonside.livejournal.com 2011-06-30 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Or scared of what you were going to ask?" suggested B'Elanna. If she was one of the hamsters, she'd be very worried about what the prisoners would do when they finally caught up with her. And they would catch up with the aliens if she had anything to do with it.

"This Mayhem could be the alien in charge. Maybe the hamster was just a worker."

[Visual]

[identity profile] aklingonside.livejournal.com 2011-07-02 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither did B'Elanna, really. But if it was scared, she wanted to know why and whether it was more frightened of the prisoners or of the other aliens. That sort of knowledge could come in useful.

"You'll have the whole city behind you."

Re: [Visual]

[identity profile] aklingonside.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"So will I," said B'Elanna with a nod of gratitude, though she didn't expect to find anything soon. She'd been trying for months without success. Why would that change now? "Good luck."
