02 [Location: The Northern Island] A castle, you say?
Madelyne got on the train and headed toward the crystal castle that Glitch told her about. Apart from the strange disturbance she'd felt a little bit ago, she's mostly been exploring and trying to understand what, exactly, this place is and what is going on here. The idea that she's being experimented on by aliens is not one that makes her happy at all.
Being an experiement never seems to go well for her, historically.
She takes her time travelling to the castle, using the time to think, to process her new situation and to try to think about anything other than Scott. Her exhusband is an appealing subject to brood on but at the same time, it can't be healthy for her. She's been trying to be good and to have a positive attitude.

[location] sorry this is late D:
He meets Madelyne at the end of the causeway a short distance from the front door and gives her a grin and a slight bow in greeting. His outward mood is cheerful, but there are little eddies of lingering trauma on the surface of his psyche.
"Hello! So glad to see you, finally. Sorry Taxon's been...Taxoning lately." A little grimace and a sigh. "Hopefully it'll be quiet for a while. How are you?"
Re: [location] No problem! It happens.
"I'm... A little startled, actually. This place is unreal and yet far too real at the same time."
[location]
The first impression of the palace is the massive main hall with its dizzying vaulted ceiling, forest of columns (some wrapped in Christmas lights), sweeping staircase, and overhead walkway. To the right is a large portrait of a seated lady in royal regalia, and standing behind her is a younger, zipper-less Glitch.
"Welcome to the Northern Island," he says as they walk. "Back in my world, the Outer Zone, it was the summer palace for the royal family. It wasn't always covered in ice, that was...done by the Sorceress of who overthrew the queen." He gestures to the portrait with a sad smile. "When DG arrived in Taxon it came with her, and we've made it our home. We've had housemates off and on, but right now it's just us and Bagoas."
Re: [location]
"I'm looking forward to changing that, though."

Good enough. He smiles a little boyishly. "And Bagoas is the young man we first spoke about. Turns out he's from some place called Persia, from like two thousand years ago or so."
The kitchen, while still rather vast, is a lot cozier than the grand hall. The appliances are recognizable but seem "retro," like something from a steampunk version of the fifties. There are sketches attached to the fridge with magnets, a large bowl of fruit on the counter, and dining tabel with seating for six.
"You can have a seat if you like. Figured we could chat a bit before I go showing you a suite and where the pool and ballroom are." Because he would. "Can I get you anything? Water, juice, coffee, pie?"
Re: [location]
"Congrats on that." Madelyne follows, looking around intently at most everything as she does so. This whole place is just totally.... strange but fantastic at the same time. "Persia? I guess if people are coming from all sorts of dimensions, they could come from all kinds of times, too."
"Coffee would be fantastic." She slides herself into a chair at the table, looking over at him.

He grins and shrugs a little self-consciously, then heads over to work on making coffee. "And...yeah, folks here tend to not bat an eye either. There's people from different version of Earth too, some where there's no magic or vampires, and others where there is, and even more with different types of vampires." He snorts. "It's all really complciated, but at least you seem to have a head start in understanding the whole...different dimensions thing."

She's afraid the answer is no.
