001 - Holo: Arrival - Another Ordinary Day
“-why don’t they teach what really happened, because that was far more interesting.” As soon as the little girl registered the change in her environment... she quickly clutched at her ears and shut her eyes. It might not be for most people, but to this little girl the room was very very loud. Louder than anything at home ever was, it was all vibrating and it was very distracting. It was worse than the Veritas ship, plus there she had the lovely distraction of terror.
It took more than a few moments for her to finally speak again, “Sarah Jane? Mr. Smith...” After a brief flash of worry over her features she seemed to relax. Growing more used to the vibrations in her mind from all the energy flowing around the city. It was more abrasive than Earth’s electricity, but it wasn’t too bad after a few moments. She did seem to be handling the abduction remarkably well for someone so small.
As she crouches down at the edge of the pedestal she hops down to the ground ignoring all the steps like you would expect from a child without a parent to suggest that might be dangerous. Plus, the abduction overrides any other dangers at hand. “Is anyone there? I would like to go home. Sarah Jane was explaining several events in Earth’s history that were wrong. I was having fun with those stories, and there are much better ways to get her attention.”
After all, to Sky aliens showing up was an interesting distraction after having tea. If she freaked out every time she saw someone that wasn’t human it would be very hard to look in the mirror. She was still looking around the room when her expression grew troubled, and her eyes instantly fell to the item on her wrist. She didn’t reach for it, or try to remove it, she could feel how it was connected to her. “Sarah Jane will be very upset if this isn’t removable, I’m not allowed to have piercings yet. I’m not sure why, because some are very pretty, but I’m not.”
Sky quickly realized she was slipping away from the point and moved over to the other thing in the room that she could feel that wasn’t the room itself. Picking up the tablet and having no issue with it. She is, after all, exceptionally clever. Studying it for a little longer than five minutes, with no sign of realizing she’s still broadcasting... until she looks straight forward, so maybe she did notice. “Whoever is listening to this broadcast, what’s a paranoia? I don’t think I have one with me.”

He smiled when she said she had one, considering that. "So both you and your brother were developed rather than born? Because honestly I worry about any woman giving birth to a full formed boy," he admitted, making a face.
"Hrmm. Interesting. I think the ones I've heard of here are more like comic books, but then I only know of one." He shrugged. "Depends on why you do so. I thought it was funny when I did it."

"I was created by the Fleshkind, my brother was created by the Bane. But he's created entirely from human genetic information, just... more advanced and he started at age 12," It was hard to explain the family dynamic of the Smiths. Given none of them could really count as normal no matter how its sliced. "While I started as a baby and grew up all at once."
"If I have this power I've never accessed it, but I might not," Lots about her physiology she wasn't entirely sure of. Her exact capabilities being the bi one. "Oh." Humor wasn't entirely something Sky understood, sometimes she laughed, sometimes she didn't. She mostly didn't as she still caused small flickers in local electronics. Except Clyde says some funny things.

“I see.” Which he didn’t but that was more than he’d ever thought about. “So he was twelve and you… Got it.” Okay that much he got, no matter how mind blowing it really was. “He wasn’t a bomb or anything,” he asked, not realizing how lacking in manners that question really was.
“I was trying to hide from someone and found that they overlooked human blood but not my own. So I overloaded on one type and they never realized I was what they were looking for.” Course he had killed someone in the process but he hadn’t had many choices.

"He was created for study, not a weapon himself. They were trying to better understand humans so they made one." This was the difference that made Luke human, even if he had abilities humans couldn't naturally obtain, he was made to be human. Sky was never built with humanity in mind, Earth isn't a part of what matters to the Fleshkind. Also while Luke was vital to the Bane, from what she'd been told by Sarah Jane and Luke, he was not their 'endgame.'
"So... your body can handle human blood still without adverse effect, and that's what they scanned when they found you?" That was clever, but not applicable in Sky's case. She would probably die from such a deception. But if you can survive in such a system it is a good trick. Though... "Where did you get enough blood to do that? Did you rob a blood bank?"

That definitely made him frown. "Not that I encourage kidnapping or anything like that but why would they not take a person to study," he asked, not really liking the idea but seeing the merit in it. "Fake diamonds made by man aren't exactly the same as those that come from the Earth."
"I... need human blood to survive. Wicked twist of genetics, I call it." At least when he was careful to avoid the exact words. Oh, million dollar question. "I could do that but, well, I tend to have willing donors."

"I think it has to do with why his brain is more advanced than most humans, but I can't be sure." Sky had never really thought about this idea before. Although kidnapping someone generally brought trouble, which the Bane avoided. "Luke's older than me, I wasn't there for any of this. Neither was Clyde, and he usually tells me about what everyone did before me."
"Oh," Sky wasn't sure the exact mechanics of that. For sustenance. but given this involved magic she didn't know what rules were in effect. So... she will just leave this be for now. "Willing donors? That would make it easier, especially if you need less blood than would kill a human being."

"Is Clyde another brother? He alien too," Josef asked, not even trying to hide his curiosity, or lack of appropriate social skills.
"Back home I had several companions who provided for me. Here I work with hatch blood and those kind of enough to share. At my age I don't need that much, though I do miss having my fill."

"Clyde is Luke's best mate, he's human," Sky tried to figure out how best to explain this. As from comparing notes between Clyde's account and Mr. Smith's account, it was probably Clyde exaggerated. "Clyde and Luke became friends on Luke's first day of school. There were aliens, and an attempt to steal all the power from the sun. Since then Clyde helped Luke adjust to ordinary adolescent development among his peer group. Clyde's been doing much the same for me, although if it involves girly things or academics he suggests our friend Rani." Sky paused, "Rani's also human and not related to me."
Sky stuck to one statement in that last thought of blood drinking that drew her attention, "Hatch blood?"

Yeah, this was going to become one of those things that Josef just had to accept at face value. Like how Glitch got that zipper in his head. "Sounds like you live in a pretty full household. I had that kind of household before now, though it was mostly employees and not family or friends."
He considered which she was asking about and went with what was, for him, the obvious. "Hatches are around the city and produce what you want. They take money from your account and do a pretty poor job but they try. So I get blood frfom them though they don't have the nutrition of the real thing."

"I do, it's really great. Although most of them don't technically live with me, but they are over enough Sarah Jane wonders why she bothers to stock the cupboards," Rani and Clyde were over every day after school, and most weekends. Luke was usually available for one or two calls a week. "I miss them."
"So it approximates things you need, but costs money. Does this mean I need to get a job. Are there rules against child labor in the city?" She had never had a job before, usually people bought her things because they were nice. She tried asking why and Rani and Clyde had a long talk with her that was for the most part confusing. She decided not to ask about it and just accept the generosity.

"I don't think I remember a time of my family when it would have been like that. Interesting." And his home before this place had plenty of people in and out all day but they were mostly all employees and not many he was close to.
"You get money every month. You can work... I guess? You're the first child I've known, except for a teenage dragon. That's another story all together, but I don't think she works either."
