[Text] / [Location: a cafe in Speares]
Does anyone know if transfer of credits can be accomplished from one person to another, here? So far all I have managed is using them at the stores or with the hatches, and as it happens this 'allowance' they give us isn't really adequate.
Where I was from, I offered my services in a consulting capacity, but if I cannot get payment for such here, then that isn't incredibly practical.
....on a similar note, if anybody wishes their tarot read, it appears I'm doing this for free until I figure out a way to return an investment on the deck I just hatched.
If so, I'm at the version of the Café Procope that they have apparently stolen from Paris and transplanted here. It is in the Speares district. I may be found at one of the upstairs balcony tables.

[Location] I rarely notice...
[Location] I only ever notice after the fact. :P
"There is no great mystery to the cards, really. A half-decent student of human nature, armed with a few facts about his querent and a penchant for dramatic delivery, can give a reading such as would satisfy most people.
"The art of divination and the art of the con are close cousins at best. Incestuous at worst."
He slid the deck of cards back into their box, for now.
"I myself give dull readings, as I have no penchant for drama."

She nods, thinking about it, "I imagine there are a number of people who prey upon those willing to believe or looking for something to hold on to."

He set the deck to one side and stirred his coffee, the little spoon making a soft silvery noise against the cup.
"I did not ask if you wished something to drink, did I? Rude of me."
no subject
Madelyne looks at him silently, trying to see if he's genuine in his asking if she wanted something to drink or not. He's been not entirely pleasant at times. Still, he seems to be asking truly, "Not that rude. I am entirely capable of ordering for myself. I hadn't thought of it."

'Not entirely pleasant at times' is a good shorthand for Jason Blood. He gives another tiny shrug at her demurral that she was more than capable of ordering for herself, and sips at his own coffee.
"I'm English, more or less; I might have to commit ritual suicide if I didn't at least ask. Their coffee is passable, if you would like some."

Still, that duty of British chivalry discharged, he seems to consider his duty with regards to etiquette done, and doesn't offer pleasant small talk.

She shrugs a little bit, not entirely committed to the idea but still, it seems like a good community building sort of idea.

"We do seem to have a smattering of Paris with us--" he gestures at what might be the Café de la Paix down the street, or a good imitation of it at least, "--so it seems you would fit right in in that regard..."

He's mostly just amusing himself at this point, yes.
no subject
She's sort of amused as well, though in a different fashion.

What would that be like? She's sort of hesitant to explore the idea.

Madelyne smiles at that thought before focusing on Jason again, "Thank you for your time. I have things I need to think about." With that, she starts to stand up.

"Of course. A good day to you, Miss Pryor."
