009 [Visual] Stir 'Fry' Crazy

"I'm bored. Bored bored bored bored BORED." Vala gesticulates wildly with her hands at the tablet screen infront of her. "So bored, that if something exciting doesn't happen soon - and by exciting I'd rather it wasn't of the 'life threatening we're going to mess with your physiology and or mental state' variety - I'm going to start taking hostages. Because quite frankly I'm starting to go stir fry crazy cooped up in this city."

The unadulterated and sudden display of frustration bordering on aggressive is closely followed up by Vala literally headdesking (several times), before she sits back up, flicks her hair back dramatically and huffs and sighs at the screen.

"Who wants to take me on a date? It's my birthday!"

"Now, is it really your birthday? Or are you just saying that so someone'd take you out?" Cassie asked, arching an eyebrow.

She'd been sitting in the back of the Deadmobile, so several knives were hanging behind Cassie's head as she spoke.

"Well technically it's hard to pinpoint, as there doesn't seem to be any knowledge of a date system in Taxon." Vala answers, flippantly dismissing the question despite her defensive explanation.

"But I'm due for one I think. Actually I've never celebrated a birthday come to think of it, so I'm owed at least twenty two of them."

Cassie's eyebrow remained arched as her head canted to the side and she thought it over. "That's true. Maybe we shoulda figured the first day here was January 1st."

"You want a giant cookie or a cake?" Cassie asked, a small chuckle escaping her. "Or cupcakes?"

"You mean as in, an actual birthday cake?" Vala's response came a little too eagerly, eyes lighting up momentarily at the idea before she laughed the notion off when she realised Cassie was only joking.

"I think I'll probably manage without," she shrugged, feigning indifference. "I never did get why Earth people celebrated with cake. Happy Birthday! Not only are you a year older, we're going to help you get fatter too."

"I'm sure someone's already cataloging some kind of date system," she diverts the conversation back, idly flipping through files on the computer next to her. One of these files of Daniel's probably has it all under way already, knowing him.

"Sure. frosting, candles. 'Happy birthday' written on it. Why not?" I haven't had a birthday cake since...shit, at least since I was fourteen or something."

Cassie shrugged off the 'earth people' thing, not really wanting to find out what was going on behind there just yet. "It's a celebration. Good food for good times, I guess."
