~Halloween Event~ Carnival! Fun Fair Fun Times!
On the evening of the twenty-second day of the tenth month, the chilly weather takes on a slightly different shroud: veiling itself in brighter starlight and clearer air and a crisp, pitch black cloak of darkness...lit up by streetlamps and bright, autumnal window displays, and carved vegetables as far as the eye can see.
It's not just Jack what makes a lantern this time of year, but courgettes and bird cages (birds not included) and jars and actual wrought iron lanterns. Candle light permeating the very air of the city, casting a warm glow on anyone who happens to draw close enough.
Here and there Extra parents tug their Extra children along in a hurried quest to find the perfect outfit or costume for this or that party, spooky or sweet or just plain excellent.
What's more is the long winding carnival snaking its way along the many winding streets of Taxon, hundreds of Extras all dressed up in outfits that some may find more disturbing than others: zombies, ghouls, old crones and Killer Klowns and white-masked beings, moaning and wheezing and giggling their way towards Central Square - but who knows where they're headed next.
Fun fair's in town, kids.

"I'll say," he remarks and walks close beside Bagoas, unease about the fair mostly gone. Maybe there will be a ring toss, or a test of strength where he can show off since those rely more on physics than brute force. Or they can just find some caramel apples and find a performer to watch.
"Are there carnivals at all like this where you're from?" he asks, curious. "Traveling circuses, those sorts of things?"

"Whenever the Great King would call for celebrations, singers and dancers and acrobats, entertainers of all manner of variation would come in hope of winning his favour. There would be great feasts; the entire city aglow with excitement. Contests too, of skill or wisdom or beauty..."
...I don't remember if he's explained AE yet or not >.>
And fireworks, he's sure there were fireworks and colorful garb and he's sure both are involved in--
"There is one holiday from my world we've started celebrating here, to start the new year...annual. We throw a party, and there's food and music and dancing all night and everyone dresses in their most colorful, elaborate clothes."
His smile is a little distant but happy, eager. "It's part showing off but mostly it's being with friends, and giving each other gifts to help in the new annual. Some life and laughter in the middle of a cold winter."
nope! :D
But as Glitch goes on, his own grin turns into an excited smile and a brightening twinkle to his eyes. "When?"
In other words: how long until he simply must find the perfect outfit. And another thing he's been looking for an excuse to wear, lest it sit forever in its velvet box for fear of damage or loss.
"Would the feather brooch be suitable adornment?"
Re: nope! :D
"It's at the end of December so...two and a half months away, I think? Ten weeks. Five fortnights." He nods to himself, satisfied he's covered all the descriptive ground.
At the query he offers a wondering little smile and squeezes his companion's hand. "Let me put it to you this way: it's not just suitable, I want you to wear it."

"I know just the scarf to pin it to." He glances up. "You know the ins and outs of my wardrobe better than anyone, I should think. ...is there anything else you would see me wear?"
