[Location: Taxon High Gymnasium] Time for the big game!

Tonight is the night of the big basketball game between Taxon High and their rival Cricetidae High! It is the biggest game of the season for the basketball team, the band /and/ the cheerleaders. All of them have performances that they need to hit out of the park. For some there are scholarships on the line and for others it is a huge peer pressure moment.

Of course, for others, it is just another thing to do, another place to be seen and another chance to get out of the house.

What might happen this evening? Will there be triumphs or tragedies? Will there be hookups or hangouts?

Only time will tell!

Jason watches all this intently. When she scoots that tiny bit closer to him, he allows it, although jams the lighter down into a pocket as if he's worried she might take her trade back.

"What's he say to you?" he asks, jerking his chin at the apple-head. Apparently he's asking quite seriously.

Selina looks at him with brows arched. She didn't think that he'd actually ask. "Secrets," she says. This is a girl who has said maybe ten words in his presence in all the time that he's ever seen her and that includes, somehow, a group presentation she was an important component in in class.

Jason nods as if totally unsurprised by this.

"He doesn't talk to me," he says. "I made him so he can't talk to me. Sometimes he lets me see things but because we're too close we can't talk. He'll keep you safe while you sleep though. You should hang him over your bed. He keeps the things with legs away."

Okay, so apparently he'll talk enough for both of you.

"Good," she says and nods. Everything he's saying totally makes sense to her. She is willing to accept these sorts of things - there must be plenty of thing she doesn't know about and there are plenty of things she does.

Lifting a shoulder, she seems to indicate the gym, somehow, and then arches a brow at him. What's he doing here?

Wonder of wonders, she doesn't stare at him and say he's weird or scoot away. Maybe she even believes him.

When she looks down at the court and back to him he shifts nervously in his seat. He probably shouldn't tell her. But she seems nice like maybe she could handle the truth...

Jason looks to the left, looks to the right, pitches his voice for Secrets and Important Shit.

"I have to stop a demon from being summoned on the court," he informs her, thin shoulders lifting a little with self-imposed self-importance.

Her brows arch but not in a way that says she doesn't believe him but more surprise than anything else. Frowning, she look out at the game that is sort of a fumbling thing just truly beginning to get going under its own power. Tilting her head to one side she frowns before looking at him and indicating the court with her head.

"It's a summoning circle," he blurts out, and waves one pasty-pale hand down at all the mysterious circles and lines on the court, the three-point line and all the others he's never bothered learning in PE class.

"It's got significance, and all those lines mean things, they're a big like, a pentagram thing!"

"Three point line?"

She isn't a woman of many words but she's attempting to be more clear about what it is that is happening. It isn't that she doesn't believe him but it is more that she just doesn't know enough about what it is he's talking about to say more.

Not that she would anyway.

Jason waves a hand dismissive of whatever the proper name for it is.

"It's the line of greater darkness. The whole thing's a gateway to the lower planes. There are things there that would rip the skin from a man's bones!"

Selina shakes her head, looking toward Metody and then looks back at Jason. She gives a shrug. It isn't that she doesn't believe him but this isn't her first basketball game, you know? And that really conversational friendly boy is coming this way....

"It's okay," Jason says in response to her look and shrug. "I'm going to stop it. Really. But I understand if you don't want to stay and watch. It could be dangerous." Oh, he is so very earnest.
