12 Tea anyone? [Location: Madelyne's House] [Visual]

"Hello all," Madelyne says from her kitchen.

"Things have been a little strange around here, not that they're every anything else, but I thought I would send out an invitation to everyone here to tea. I have something of a stash built up and I want to get to know my neighbors."

There is a tea pot behind her on the kitchen table along with what looks like tiny little tea sandwiches and perhaps cookies.

"It seems this place is smaller now, so I thought, perhaps, we could start to treat each other a little more like neighbors." It could also be that Maddy sort of liked the person she was as a high school girl and is trying to be more like her and less like the person she was. It feels like she's figured out who she wants to be /now/, instead of defined by her past.

"I'd like to toast new beginnings and try to appreciate the chances."

"People are really into tea here," Emma observes. "Any chance for some cocoa at this thing?"

Hey, she's not exactly a social butterfly but she needs connections if there's any chance of getting out of here.

"I'm sure I have some somewhere in the house," Madelyne says with a smile. "If not, I know I have cocoa and I have milk, so I can figure it out from there, I'm sure."

"Don't go through too much trouble," Emma replies, shaking her head. "The company's the important part. Okay so...with this map, I just go to your dot? And that's where you are?"

"It isn't too much trouble. I'd rather have people over and it isn't like I can't figure out how to make cocoa," Maddy says with a small smile.

"Yeah, that's the best way. Just follow the blinky dot and you should get there."

"All right then, I'll be there...when I get there."

It takes her a little bit to get orientated but soon enough she arrives at Maddy's door, knocking politely.

Madelyne opens the door and smiles at the woman on the other side, "Hello. Welcome to my home!"

There is a brief moment where she looks the other woman over but it is mostly in that 'I haven't seen you in person before' way more than anything else.

Here have an Emma: late twenties, blond, average height, red leather jacket, and she's giving Maddy a scrutinizing look right back. Sizing up, not judging.

"Thanks for asking me over," she replies with a wry little smile, looking around. "Nice place you've got here."

"No problem. It is good to have someone over."

Madelyne pulls back to let Emma into the apartment. She's never entirely been fond of blondes named Emma but, well, maybe she can learn a new habit. "How's Taxon been treating you so far?"

No worries, this one doesn't like slouching around in negligee and has no psychic powers to speak of.

"Weirdly," she confesses and steps inside. "I got a little place for myself but...it's really weird, just settling in. Like it's epected but I don't like it."

"Me either, actually. There isn't much else to do about it, though. It..." Madelyne pauses for a few moments as she continues to walking toward the kitchen.

"It get weird enough around here when it isn't mundanely boring."

"So I've heard," she mutters and follows along. "That's why I'm trying to keep my head down for the time being. It does get boring, though."

Boring as a kidnapping could be.

"It helps to find a job or something like a job. I have an airplane that I work on, I take flights around the city," she says with a small shrug. Turning on the the stove when she gets to the kitchen starting to heat up a pan for milk for cocoa.

"It does get dull around here. It leaves you time to get to know people."

Emma shakes her head. "Defintiely not ready for that, I barely got a job in the last town I landed in."

Sure she'd ended up as sheriff eventually but...these things happen.

"Yeah, I need to brush up on my people skills." She leans ont he counter to watch, then decides there's no time liek the present. "So what do you do here, Madelyne?"

"I have a plane that I fly. Really, it isn't a lot of work. I took the locals up for tours, mostly. It isn't really a skill that is worth much here, but, well....." Madelyne shrugs a little bit, as if it isn't really all that big of a deal.
