Glitch? Getting to the point in a reasonable amount of time? Is it possible?

"For those who don't know me: my name's Glitch, I'm that guy who's been here since forever and kinda know the most about all the...stuff that goes on here. Sorta."

No, no it is not.

"Anyway, ah...I've been studying the lighthouse and found some peculiarities with the light-beam thingy which I wanna discuss with everyone. Or most of you, if you can make it. Plus there was that whole hanging out and having drinks thing which I mentioned before all the stuff north of the river happened-- hey we can talk about that too."

Yeah he is taking notes now, all frowny and confuzzled.

"Right! Unless you've got something drastic going on, let's meet at the Black Friar after sundown for the...sunlight-avoidant. First round of drinks is on me. See you later."

Emma's eyes widen a little and she nods, impressed.

"Nice work if you can get it," she remarks. "Though it does awkwardly put us on opposite sides of the law. Before all the fairy tale stuff I tracked down bail-skippers, then kinda ended up as sheriff."

She looks around the room again and wrinkles her nose.

"...and before all that I spent some time in juvie so maybe we're not so different."

Manners? What is this? Also she's got a beer so yeah, suitable coping dealio accomplished.

"I can get behind that," Emma says with a nod. "Though I didn't really follow all of that. There better not be a test later."

Oh God, alien pop quizes.

"It's fantastic work but, well, it puts me on the other side of a lot of good people. It also helps me piss off a lot of very, very bad people. I take that as a fair trade off," Selina says seeming amused by the idea that they'd be on the opposite sides of anything.

"If you're bored, you can always try to arrest me."

Paul offers a shrug. "Judging from the Sanctuary, it was about a half-mile out to the point on the southern side where I started to get woozy. Haven't tested to the north or east, couldn't tell you as to the west."

"I'm not sure who would administer it," Jason says with a shrug.

"I see you have left your sword at home."

"Well, that's a good thing to know."

Madelyne shakes her head a few more times, "So, that's a potential problem with this plan but, well, at the same time we will need to do something to investigate. I'll be careful.

Emma snorts and shakes her head, has another sip of her drink. "Nah, I think I'm out of the law enforcement biz."

She's only sorta fallen into it anyway, plus she was way outranked by Smecker the Fed.

"Just don't touch any of my stuff and we'll be fine."

"Yeah. I didn't think it'd leave the best impression to bring it to my first social engagement."

Plus who the hell just carries a sword around?

"If you wanna take a look at it we can...I don't know, arrange that?" She's guessing on motive here.

"You missed that. I tried that when I first got here. It didn't really make me any friends, but, ehn, I've got bigger things to worry about," Selina says with a small smile.

"I should like that, if it is not an inconvenience," Jason says not informally.

"I have a sword of my own here, but it is..." he grimaces, "...garish."

Thanks to his younger self's own wretched taste.

"Garish?" Eyebrow goes up here. Does she even wanna know?

"But no, not inconvenient, I can get it to you whenever."

"Over-wrought," he clarifies with a dismissive wave of his hand. "Highly embellished, inlaid with gemstones and precious metals, very impractical. Garish."

He picks up his teacup for a small sip, glances over to the discussion going on between others in the city-- something about a lighthouse-- then back to her. She's a bright flare at the edges of his awareness, all brass and prison bars and a baby's wail. There's power there she doesn't know about, he'd wager, or she'd not feel the need to shoulder her armor at the world.

"I should like that," he says aloud. The sword may or may not be magic; he'll be able to tell on closer inspection. But he's pretty sure that she is.

She curls her lip in sympathy, for some reason imagining Sailor Moon and her magic lunar power make-up transformations. Garish.

"Right," she agrees with a nod. "So next time I come see you I can bring it along."

Here she pauses because oh God this is stupid and she's really making an inquiry about it. "And...maybe you can show me how to use it. A little."

Jason settles back slightly in his chair, a faint smile on his lips, cradling his teacup at his chest with both hands.

"If you've slain a dragon with your blade I'm not sure there's anything I could teach," he says drily. "I've never slain a dragon. Well. Well, not a true dragon, at any rate. Drakes and wyverns. Which are smaller."

Sip-of-his-tea, his eyes half-shutting, then he shrugs. "All the same. If you would like instruction, or evaluation, in swordplay, consider me at your service, madam."
