014: [visual] picking fights with vampires again, Dean?

The tablet clicks on as it hits the couch in Bobby's house rather violently. The way it landed, on it's side, lets the viewer have a clear visual of Dean throwing himself into the chair opposite the couch, nursing a bloody nose, several nasty looking bruises and a wounded ego. He's irritated because of the fight he'd gotten into with Cian, and he's still not willing to think that there are actually good vampires, so he's ignoring the fact that Cian didn't kill him and drink his blood, preferring to sulk over his injuries.

When he finally looks up from rubbing tenderly at his head and sees the tablet recording, he jumps up and rushes to grab it. Those same viewers can probably hear Dean cussing under his breath as he turns the visual function off.

He's a vampire. [That's Dean's reasoning, and he's sticking to it.] Last I checked, both of us hunt them.

Buffy sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose as she chooses her wording carefully. She's going to very much avoid the fact that two of her three major relationships have been with vampires, because oh boy that probably wouldn't go down well.

"That's true. But there are shades of grey-- not all vampires are evil, believe it or not. There are some that drink pigs' blood to survive, some that even fight on our side. Cian doesn't feed off humans-- I'm not saying we should be all hugs and puppies with him, and I certainly don't condone his kicking of your ass, but I'm not gonna go out and stake the guy."

[No not really, Dean isn't quite one board with the whole 'some monsters are good' thing. He hasn't ever been, really.]

Yeah, well, you don't survive for long where I come from if you try to get to know the damn things first. [Dean replies, irritated.] Whatever. He can be a vegetarian, I ain't stopping him.

[A whoosh of breath as Dean falls back into his chair again, and few mumbled curses. His head hurts and he doesn't feel like being nice.]

Dean at least confirming that he's not going to try any further 'hostile action' against Cian is enough to make Buffy drop the point-- also the fact that he's clearly in pain and pissed off, understandably.

"Look, if you need anything, I'm... not even remotely qualified in a nursing capacity-- though I bet I could hatch a pretty good uniform, and oh god can we pretend I didn't just say that-- but if I can help? Here I am, being help-gal."

[Okay, so you might have to wait a second because Dean's totally laughing at the image of Buffy in a nursing outfit. But once he's finished, he'll answer.]

Well, she pretty much walked into that one, so she'll take the laughter with good grace-- which means an eyeroll.

Yay for progress! Buffy will of course however be adding 'failing to keep people informed' to her list of things to feel guilty about.
