011 [Visual]Time for a chat, young lady
Vala can't hang around to argue with Jack or Daniel about the craziness of her plan any longer. She's already not turned up to see Adria when she was expecting her, and if she leaves it much longer, who knows what stage Adria's plans will be at and it'll be too late to change her mind.
Besides, as of yet, nobody's come up with a better plan, they know how to disable her powers, but Adria's no fool and she'd be expecting an anti-Prior device. Plus there's the small issue of getting anywhere near her with it. She's pretty sure she's safe though, Adria wouldn't seriously harm her own mother. The same can't be said for Daniel, she's sure.
So she's slipped away, on her own, without telling anyone and is now standing near the Sanctuary and opening up her tablet. Notably, she's not wearing SG-1 uniform, but she might still be armed... possibly. Her leather coat serves more purpose than just looking sexy.
"Adria." She says in her best attempt at stern Mom mode, "I think we should have that talk now."

"I agree. Where should I pick you up? I have this lovely shuttle in the interim until I can locate a more suitable ship to command my fleet from here..." And then she smiles, a little too brightly. "Somewhere that I can be certain that it's not a trap. I hope you understand mother. I have to look out for my own safety, and I'm not looking forward to having to destroy all your little friends should they choose to oppose me."
no subject
She takes a deep breath, she knows she's leaping without a safety net, but it's necessary. "I'm just by the Sanctuary, in Central Taxon. Out in the open, and I can promise you, it's not a trap. My little friends, as you call them, don't even know I'm here. I decided to ditch them, we didn't agree on a few things."
It's not a lie per se, just a little deceptive in the way she worded it, bitterness in her words helping the deception along.

"I will be there shortly," she says, the little ship bringing itself down from the high point on a random roof she had it perched on. Taxon isn't a very big place, and she closes her eyes and clears her mind, searching for some sign of her mother's distinct mental energy to locate her. Surely enough it's at a central point, something that still makes her uncomfortable, and she lands the shuttle a short distance away.
"Do you swear that this isn't a trick or a trap?" She snaps anxiously at the tablet. Fortunately she hasn't yet experienced certain events from their world involving certain elaborate deceptions and kidnappings, though, and so she isn't as reluctant as she could be.

So far so good, Vala flicks the Zat gun up her sleeve on and waits impatiently.

And despite her earlier irritation, the pendulum of her mood has apparently swung again and she holds out her arms. "Mother...it's good to see you," she says with a smile that isn't quite big enough to be false, genuine truth in it. She has been lost in a strange place with hostile people and, quite frankly, found herself wanting her mother.

"Shame it isn't under more peaceful circumstances, then I might be inclined to agree." She makes no move to embrace her daughter though.
She watches Adria with a considered tilt of her head, there's more than just a spark of humanity in her, she just needs to tap into it. "You don't need to do this here you know. I don't know, treat it like a vacation, time off from the daily slog of having to destroy innocent people."
no subject
She is, unfortunately, like a human in more ways than just the good ways.
"Are you still determined to undermine me, mother? Why did you even agree to meet me? Your friends are here aren't they, they're going to try to trap me?" She doesn't sense the others around, but then that could be because they've found some way to neutralize her. She hadn't thought that it could be done, not until the cavern where they were searching for the Sangraal.
She is vulnerable here without her Prior, without her pendant, and so she starts to back up to the shuttle again in as subtle a fashion as she can manage.
no subject
"I have no desire to trap you, or even oppose Origin. I'm sure that plenty of your teachings are perfectly valid, it's just..." She smiles sadly at her daughter, she really can't see it any other way, it's not her fault.
"There are other ways."
no subject
"A change of heart. You've decided to follow the path of Origin, then?" She asks, drawing herself up and folding her hands in that I-am-the-voice-of-the-Ori way that she has. "And I don't know what you mean by other ways. Other ways to do what?"
no subject
"I mean if we had a normal relationship you might decide to be into a particular kind of music, I don't know Heavy Stone music or whatever it is they call it, and even though I might not appreciate said music, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't let you listen to it wearing headphones but I'd probably refuse to let you go to a live concert. It's a compromise, it's a mother daughter thing."
By this point, even Vala's wondering if she might have strayed a little there, but it's given her chance to check that Adria's alone, so she's not worrying unduly. Even if her temper did get the better of her, she wouldn't inflict much damage, not to her mother.
"Honestly I think we should try it."
no subject
"Well...if you're ready to join me, then, come. We need to fetch my Prior," she says with a puzzled little frown. Deep down in her heart she hadn't quite been expecting this to happen without some sort of fight. Granted, Daniel isn't there. Daniel always makes things much more full of conflict than they need to be.
She takes a few steps forward and reaches out for her mother's arm, to guide her into the shuttle. "There is much to do, and once people see that I've won my mother over to the Path things will likely go much more smoothly."

And then her hand connects with the solid bulk of the Zat and she blinks, a snarl curling her lip. "This is a trap!" She shouts, pulling back, and a hand comes up that applies pressure from afar on Vala's neck. It only takes her a moment to regain her composure, though...
Her mother choked unconscious is just as easily dealt with as her mother awake and planning her demise. "I don't know why I thought you'd really changed," she sneers, and the pressure on her throat tightens, lifting her up on her toes.
no subject
"Adria, I had no inten..." Adria ups the pressure even more and she only sputters out an incoherent choking noise instead. At this strength of pressure, she won't last long at all.
no subject
"It really is too bad that you didn't have your friends here, mother. I suppose you were planning on destroying me yourself or some nonsense. Very self-sacrificing of you, really." She gestures and tosses her into the shuttle without letting up the pressure on her throat, and then leans over her with narrowed eyes and her lip curved in a snarl.
"You can't protect Daniel from me. I will have my revenge. Now that I understand where your priorities lie, you can be sure that I'm not going to pass up the opportunity to take it."
